hi there!

ive been a lurker on these forums for a while now, finally
registered.

if anyones bored i could use some feedback from some people
who know what theyre on about... i've been dabbling making
my own particular brand of weirdness for about 9 months now,
and i think i've progressed quite well. If anyones got a
spare minute maybe could give me some feedback good or bad
on my newest song, and perhaps some tips of where to go
next... you can hear it (and some others) at
http://www.myspace.com/underredchaos .... it's called "Back
to the heaven"

Quite alot of it is powered by a sidstation for some 8-bit
craziness.

If you can't be bothered then hi anyway! :) Anyone going to
the autechre warehouse party on the 24th? cant wait!

I listened for some reason, and it sounded pretty mediocre
to me.

A good tip, get some more points before you start spamming
in here. Most people (myself included) will probably not
listen to you if you spam in the first post. I made an
exception because i am bored.

This is why your thread is turning into an onion bloodbath.

The song is pretty good, way better than anything I wrote 9
months in. However I dont think the song goes anywhere,
particularly because there isnt a strong enough idea, or
theme (possibly melody) running through. Some interesting
elements start to appear, but never fully develope It
sounds like a good backbone to a song, but overall sounds
flat.

so you have to know the person a bit more to listen to his
tracks, or is to review them?

how exactly does that work and what does it have to do with
the music or the fact of spamming? is someone new here less
worthy or something 'coz he hasn't 'spammed' the board with
his words? the guy here is not trying to sell anything or
advertize his magazine reviews, he just wants feedback on
his music not his personality.

There's a billion crappy mp3s out there, you said it
yourself, who has got time to listen to anonymous people
spamming "Check my new EP, on *mumble mumble made up
name
" AHEM records" . Maybe DirtyPriest is suggesting
that if someone at least make half an effort to be
interesting their music might warrant attention.

I was adressing the fact, that generally when people here
open a thread by a dude with one point, and "no photo
available", they will find it very off putting. Countless
times, people start an account here to spam some crappy crap
trance web site, or something similar, and then just
disappear.

Become part of the community, and THEN start posting your
music.
That's all i'm saying. It was a piece of friendly advice.

That said, I think it's got some nice ideas, 8-bit video
gamey that doesn't make me want to kill myself, but it's a
bit too choppy for my weak tea tastes.

Excatly. There's a bunch of people on the board that i will
listen 2 almost 100% of the time they post music here. It's
mostly because i interacted with them before on some level.

Other people i don't know that well, will get random
listenings.
And when you have to decide what to listen to, there are
some things the artist can do to make it just a tad more
probable that people will actually care.

wow,

fairly quick for the random flames, i wonder if there is a
message board out there where that doesn't happen.

thanks to the people who didnt just cut me down straight
away... :)

so i take it none of the people who flamed me are going to
autechre... thank fuck, i'd hope it would be full of
friendly folk. ;)

i'll upload a random photo found off google now to confirm
the fact that i am a real person and not some spam bot
intent on destroying the xltronic forums with my shittiness.
Sigh.

recycle isn't eactly like the guy that's overfriendly on
your first day at a new job, the one that you then spend the
next six painful months dropping hints to that you don't
feel comfortable with his suggestion that you go on holiday
together, he just seems that way.

hmm

the song is

well

there's a bit too little going on, in a way, and just
because it changes often that doesn't make more happen, it
just makes it seem chaotic and random and stuff...

haha, those myspace friends things are so weird.. are you
really friends with boards of canada or did you just add
them and they accepted? It reduces that whole friendship
thing to "oh, all right then, I'll click ok you wanker!"

I've got Britney Spears and Noam Chomsky...

yeah i saw. it was an educated guess :)

thanks to the people who gave feedback... i find it
difficult holding to an idea, which usually makes the stuff

progress though, the first song i made sounded like a hole

any of you guys have your efforts anywhere within reach, out
