It seems the board is a bit slow, the same 10 people
posting, and starting threads, I think that if you have some
good musical knowledge state it and start a thread about it
if it needs to be said. That stated im listening to Cylob's
Spider Report 12" and god damn its good. Thansk.

Spider Report is sweet and Cylob is really in form these
days. Hopefully he'll release some new stuff á la his new
fangled electro style stuff like SR and CMS.

Yeah somebody, out of the blue sent it to me, I honestly
have no idea where it came from, I just opened the post one
day and boom there was this 13" package :)

Whts this Sr and Cms you speak of?

I'm a big fan of earlier Cylob, I have full respect for the
man and I look forward to future releases, but I have to say
the Spider Report thing left me cold. It sounded.. thin
and.. spidery?

He's a legend and a lot better than some other artists that
get mentioned more, I want this unlikely looking funker back
at the Top!

the guy did 'cut the midrange drop the bass' and 'cylobian
sunset' and for those i am eternally grateful.

Cylob is totally underrated these days. Maybe he always was?
I don't know, I haven't been lurking around the "scene" for
that many years, so I'm not going to pretend like I have
much knowledge of its past ongoings. His old stuff is
definitely solid, but I must say the CMSes have brought him
back to superb form. Spider Report is sweet enough, but the
CMSes are where he really shines in all aspects.

I'll have to listen to CMS again because, again, that just
didn't click with me at all. Now that's my fault, I hold my
hands up, guilty as charged. But all the stuff.. pretty much
everything before "Mood Bells" was just classic Braindance
that you could not deny. And quite varied.. pop, ambient,
funky electro.. he's very diverse. I like the earlier
Kinesthesia as well, "Empathy Box" gets regular plays in my
sin pit.

To Cylob!

I remember sending him a stupid fan mail once, in my early
IDM years, and he very politely replied to it, with some
nice text and some ASCII art.

He's a nice guy, and indeed, underrated.

CMS required a few hearings before it really "sat" with me.
The melodies were oddly detuned, the beats were weird, stuff
was generally seemed a bit unpleasant... but after a while,
I sort of "got" it and it really really really rules. The
melodies are brilliant and clever, the beats are poundin'
and it's all a brainfest.

To Cylob!

I really wish there were more subjects available for proper
debate, but there isn't much good new music any more.. I
used to be able to find it here, but these days everyone's
into crap techno like the knife or old rock bands that we
all heard a million times before.. plus this weird
fascination with the 80s and 90s that has spread to a
pandemic resulting in a focus on the crap music that came
out of those s'.

the exact origin of the word is not known, but it is
speculated by some to have roots in that very word you said,

I like Cylob. I'm curious as to how successful he is, not
because it really matters, but because I don't ever see much
interest in his music yet he's often playing gigs in London.

The first cylob album I got was "previously unreleased on
compact disc", which has some incredible stuff like lave
trader and plouth, oh and flicklife! Cylob is very hit or
miss with me, I either love the song or hate it.
