These guys have been putting out some great music for the
past ten years. Tim Hecker, Merzbow, Set Fire to Flames
etc.. They've got some interesting stuff to say about how
music is changing. check it out

ehhh... i think they've put a lot of interesting sound out

something to say about it

wow, you're a pretty fast reader if you can digest a 2000+
word interview in the span of ten minutes

The only hope is that there is such a saturation of
independently made music that ALL music ceases to exist in
any meaningful sense. And that's something that I can get
behind working toward.

not really interesting interview..i mean it may be
interesting to someone who was away from internet the past
10 years..but yes, alien8 is an interesting label..it was
even more interesting a few years ago with all those
experimental records. though on the other hand i like
lesbians on x and les georges leningrad a lot as well..not
to mention they have real good prices if you order directly
from them!

It can't be helped. By and large though from what I've seen
on Xlt things are much better here than your neighbours
wat... cough*

i kind of want to call you out. i mean i don't really think
alien8 is insanely innovative either, but i can't remember
too many comments from you (about anything... a lot of
moderately faux-progressive things even) that weren't
generally dismissive.

so i'm seriously wondering: what is it that you listen to?
if not alien8 then who do you think one should be looking
to?

i don't say this out of hostility so much as genuine
interest. so please:

fuck yes! ive been trying to explain this idea to my music
making friends for a while now, but you put it quite nicely!
thank you sir

music is worthless

how could you say music is worthless? you hang out on a
music message board for godsake.
ehhh... i'd disagree with you because there are some tracks
i can listen to and the only word i can describe the feeling
with is transcendental.
there is seriously a lot of bad music out there right now
though... its not just the mainstream but everywhere. a lot
of that has to do with the internet too.
