I just want to share with you the fact that I love this
record, it's mgreat and probably one of best ae releases
expecially compared to their latest outputs.
It is very influetial as well because I found a similar
sound in some squarepusher records and prefuse 73 because
there's some hip hop vocal here and there

Zeiss Contarex is my favorite ep7 track. I wish AE would
make more dark stuff like this.

i find it poor... to me it sounds like there are some ideas
in it, but mostly ideas for sounds and not for
tracks*. most of the tracks on ep7 sound like filler,
and i often can't even distinguish them from each other...
there are some good ones, especially towards the end of the
album, but it's just not enough to make a decent album.

ep7 is worth a 2 out of 5 in my book.

* this "problem" was also apparent in the latest Autechre
track i've heard, 'Fermium': a great loop, unfortunately
wasted in a track that drags on for too long and doesn't
give the loop the treatment it deserves.

(and even so, most of the "ideas for sounds" in it have
already been used by Autechre before.)

I think instead there are lot of ideas as well, and I find
often that autechre ep's are very good

yes the hidden track before track one is an amazing idea but
my record player can't see it so it's quite difficult

record player?
the xtra track is on a European cd release only and a v/a
compilation....god knows what one...the track is pretty
good, but to call it amazing, its not.

I sort of agree, and it's more style over substance, but I
think the sounds of each individual track are varied and
distinctive. It's stylin'. Most of the tracks do get pretty
tedious.
