[spam] upcoming EP track

Back in January I was sketching out four tracks for an EP,
based on a style I worked very much in back in 03/04 when I
first got into "musicmaking". Fast beats, fast melodies,
keeping it (sigh) lush. If you've heard older tracks by me
like Thickets, a few of the Rolf Remixesx, Universe Run etc.
or any "melodic jungle" from the 96/97 era (µ-ziq comes to
mind!), this is in that vein. I try spicing it up and
keeping it a bit shuffled up though, even though it's still
very much on the romanticism tip. I actually didn't finish
up all the tracks until a little while ago, because I'm an
ADD riddled freak.

The full EP will be out on a 3" CD on Spunktronics and is
titled "Ether Overdose". I think it'll be like £2-3 or
something, so not the most costy of endeavours.

I picked the track "A Conversation" as a little sneak peek.
It's on Myspace as well as here in MP3
(256kbit) format.

if i could make any criticism its that the drums could be
louder! or shape em up in the mid-range.

i intenationally keep the drums like that because i don't
want them to disrupt the other elements of the track. i
think it sounds good here, but i have a limited amount of
systems to test it on. i shared this stuff with a mastering
engineer i know in germany, though, and i've gotten no
complaints at all so far.

drums sound ok, they could be a bit louder but they don't
have to be imo. the melodies are way to cool to be
overshadowed by the drums.

actually I think it's a bit coffeetableish. could've
probably been more in vogue if it was around 99. I might be
wrong, and this will spark a flame that will become the
nu-drill movement

It kinda reminds me of the atmospheric dnb sound, made
famous by early photek (especially under his truper alias)
etc...

but with more interesting melodies. anyway i like it, and
will be sure to buy a copy when its pressed.

I want all the 0002q proper releases. I know it's not a
label, but the umbrella project if you will still rocks.

yeah, 002q is my site, cerebral noise is the label, but
there hasn't been a "proper" release yet. the eaps are just
for fun and the proper releases will come later on, starting
with an lp by me called micro-anode.
