Was it me or were the Thunderbirds really fucking disturbing? They used to scare the shit out of me. I was at a Fila Brazillia gig last night and they were on a screen in the pub. They induced a state of anxiety not triggered since I was a lil' un

They were very disturbing - it was probably the way they walked, and how they're faces were expressionless. And before someone says....I know they were puppets and NOT real people. Disturbing nevertheless!
Others included Captain Scarlet....and Jonesy, do you remember Terrahawks? That Zelda character, boy was she uugggglyyy!

Shit. For years I was trying to remember the name of that programme. I just remembered the square and round robots. Then I saw an annual in a second-hand bookshop. I hate it when your memory fails you. There's a site called Yesterdayland.com that has all the old shows. It is American however but it has loads of the old stuff.
E-mail still isn't working.

Terrahawks was probably one of my favourites of those 'puppet' type shows - probably because it was more up to date than the others....
I think they should do new versions, using computer graphics - they'd be great!

Jayson and the Wheeled Warriors was great! That was one of those cartoons that was almost like the manga anime wasn't it!
Those trucks and tanks with plant-like organisims growning on them!

I bought three of the recently released video tapes from Amazon - its amazing, dated, but good stuff!

Shit I was just trying to think of the name of G-Force. That was another one I could never remember. Wasn't one a spin-off of the other? Wasn't there a character called Mark in one? It was class.

That was one of my all time favourites. I like Knight Rider, but those cars were so much cooler! Dan, Tess and the cars were Roadie and Wheels - I think!

Battle for the Planets, went by different names I think. Gatchaman and G-Force. The main guy was called Mark and the evil villain was Zoltar!

Shit, your memory is good. I remeber the theme tune mostly. It was thrust your fist in the air, hair standing up on the back of your neck euphoric.

In fact, they were probably made by the same animation house as Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors - DiC I think!
I do confess though - I studied animation a lot whilst in school (...not just as an excuse to watch cartoons..) I actually did work experience for a few weeks in an animation house in Cardiff, where they made that 'crappy' Superted cartoon - wonderful time!!

Yep, it must have been the BBC then. My memory is bad.
Superted wasn't great. I saw a stage production at the New Theatre as a child. I was in the balcony (well I am from Penarth) and you could see the cables. It was well funny, if a little disappointing.

I remember that....it was a pantomine at the New Theatre - we were dragged to that as well! Melvin Hayes (from Aint Half Hot Mum) was Spotty man.
We were down in the stalls, as we were told the 'Penarth gentry' had bought out all the balcony seats...months in advance ;-)

He he, I saw the superted show too, "The planet of the Spooks". I still have a badge from it somewhere.
Jason and the wheeled warriors was great.
I recently re-watched Captain Scarlet and realised how serious/good it actually was.

Eric turned into Bananaman. I never really liked it much. It was all a marketing ploy by the fruit multinationals to get kids to eat more fruit and so bloat their profits. The spinach companies had a hand in Popeye in the same way.

The myth that spinach has 10 times more iron than any other green veg stems from the mis-printing of a decimal place! It actually has no more iron than cauliflower or green beans.
