Depends what parking is like at the university/how far from home it is/whether you have a laptop or desktop PC and also what public transport links are like.
You're probably not likely to use the car around uni much as generally the studenty areas (student houses/pubs/the campus itself) all tend to be within walking distance.

£40 a month. i am considering it, for the first few months at least.
ceri: yeah, i doubt i would use it while i was there, only for going home and back.
do most people start out like this at first:? saying they will go home every week to see old friends etc., but eventually give up and stay with new friends at uni?

if you go home all the time you wont make friends as much. most people hardly go home at all in my experience

Re: Going home. What Dannn_ said.
You'll also probably find that if you go home all the time, there won't be many people there, if lots of your mates have gone to uni too. I found it better to arrange a couple of meet ups throughout each term where everyone made an effort to be back for the same weekend.
You'll probably go home less and less as time wears on. Depends how far away you are, but aside from the cost, travelling eats into your weekend time too.

i will probably go back less and less though over time
