a good female friend of mine wants to celebrate her 19th birthday up in London next week but has pretty much left it to me to organise something. All I've been told by her best friend is that a nice meal or a not too tacky nightclub would suffice, but it has to be "special". Any ideas on where to take a nice girl on her birthday in the capital? Money isn't really too much of a problem, although dinner at the Ritz is probably a no. Help... |

15 quid isn't that much. If you're going 10pm til 5am, that's seven hours. Drinks? London's expensive everywhere for drinks. It's better to go out once a week and do it properly than go out three times and end up sitting in some shitty chav chain pub drinking a pitcher or Blue WKD and Lemonade 'cause it's cheap, surrounded by orange-tanned arseholes looking for a fight. |

P.S. FUCK Fabric. Not to take your bird to anyway. Another good place to go is Brick Lane (sort of east central London). Check out The Big Chill Bar or 1001 Bar (you can usually smoke green in here too). You've also got 93 Feet East just across the road which is a wicked club (usually hold Rephlex nights there). |

Fabric is shit. The queue is way too long. Takes forever to get in. Once you're inside, you can't move around due to overcrowding (no room to dance either). The sound system is way too loud, it distorts, while at the same time damaging your ear drums, and the few times I was there the drum 'n bass they played was of the worst kind. So from my experience it is a shithole. Weaselboy, why don't you invite some people over to your house and throw her a nice little get-together. |
