Dear zilty,

last night i watched 'the life aquatic' and the little parts
with the black dude playing jazz renditions of bowie songs
made me smile.

today i'd like to get some proper choodessny, dobby bowie
albums, since all i have (and all i really ever listened to,
since i was a kid, since our turntable at home was always
broken) is a best of cd called changesbowie.

I also wanted to refrain from using the search engine,
because, well, it's not exactly fucking habit now, is it?
the thing was gone for fucking ages, and now it's not
fucking habit. and yes, obviously because i'm writing this,
i know it's there, and i could easily utilise it before
clicking "post", BUT I FUCKING WON'T. so FUCKING DEAL WITH
IT.

yours sincerely,
the executive management

I'd say Aladdin Sane, Hunky Dory, Station to Station, Scary
Monsters & Low. Give Reality and Heathen a chance too, but
check them out a bit later, maybe.

didn't specifically ask for something as.. specific...

Someday they won't let you, so now you must agree

The times they are a-telling, and the changing isn't free

You've read it in the tea leaves, and the tracks are on TV

Beware the savage jaw

Of 1984

They'll split your pretty cranium, and fill it full of air

And tell that you're eighty, but brother, you won't care

You'll be shooting up on anything, tomorrow's never there

Beware the savage jaw

Of 1984

CHORUS

Come see, come see, remember me?

We played out an all night movie role

You said it would last, but I guess we enrolled

In 1984 (who could ask for more)

1984 (who could ask for mor-or-or-or-ore)

(Mor-or-or-or-ore)

station to station
heroes
changes 1 and 2
hunky dory
sometimes i have bowie days, hope you enjoy these Aengus.

Everytime Bowie gets mentioned, I am compelled to play
"Station to Station" and/or "Lodger" and I have to "crank up
the volume" so loud that my bowels collapse. It's so bloody
inconvenient.

I can take it, I can take it all, I'd fucking stick on
"Tonight" as well and still have enough left for "Ziggy
Stardust: The Motion Picture" DVD. YESSSSSS

you'll get the whole image of his awesomness (or not).

cheers and good luck

redrum is right, time to quit the internets, sit comfortably
and listen to music, play a record . enjoy real music not
the mp3s from pc.

i think i wouldn't appreciate "reality" as much as i did
[when i got it as a birthday present] if i just quickly
checked it online...even listening to it in the kitchen at
breakfast and looking out the window - makes the songs sound
more ....nice and ace and cool. i'm getting older, oh dear

redrum: i'll bump this thread 13 days from today. wunderbar
2 weeks ahead of you !

that wandering bass riff in john i'm always dancing, always
been a favourite of mine, brilliant stuff, it's fucking
legendary

where he's singing "john i'm only dancing", yeah? and then
it goes totally mental after "she turns me on"

Check out "John, I’m Only Dancing (Again)" it's quite an
odd but thoroughly awesome take on the original.

David's live album, "Stage" is pretty excellent. They're so
fucking good (Bowie and the whole band) that the record
sounds like a studio recording.

It's also fun to hear Bowie fumble through the lyrics of
"Heroes".
