well done Laura for getting a Triple Grade Distinction for
your BTEC National Diploma in Music Technology

you've worked hard for it

and for those of you who will pipe up, yes i'm promoting the
fact that my girlfriend has passed the course top of the
class. i'm proud of her - she's cut through a lot of male
bullshit to get the mark she has for it, she's worked hard,
and she didn't give up when the pressure was on.

i hope anyone else who has been studying has also gotten the
mark that they wanted :D

i know she'd love to get into radio maybe, or help out doing
live sound for any local theatres

at the moment she just needs a job to make ends meet!

I can't find congs at urban dictionary, so did horsefactory
really just coin it? It's really catching on and I hope it
finds itself into websters someday.

I think i'm gonna cry.
Thank you so much oscillik thats really sweet of you.

I was hard work, and i did get alot of stick, not only from
the guys but the girls too, just simply because i didn't fit
into their crowd.

It's ok though because i know i at least did all my own
work.. the few other girls used to get the boys to do the
work for them.

in my college being able to read notation wasn't necessary -
my college was very technology driven, and everyone on the
course into "electronic" based music.

Laura's college on the otherhand was different - there
wasn't a hardware synth in the whole building, most of the
students were into "traditional" rock based music...not that
there's anything wrong with that, Music Technology is of
course applicable for more "traditional" stuff, but the
emphasis was different. ergo Laura had a bit of a time
trying to get information (one of her tutors said "there's
no point teaching you guys about hardware samplers because
no-one uses them anymore).

anyways, my point being that if you can read notation it
would be beneficial but not necessary to do the course. if
you can still go for it, and are interested in it, go for
it. just make sure you go to a college/uni that has the
facilities and focus. college for me was the best 2 years of
my educational life. i continually wish i was back there
because it was great.
