in Argentina... the majority of the people has ancestors from Italy and Spain, but my ancestors are from Switzerland (related surnames: Marty = father, Meyer = mother, Imhoff = grandmother) and something of Italy (Marchesi = grandmother)
incredibly my grandgrandparents (grandparents of my mother and my father) came from the same small town called Varen, is a beautiful history of love too... they came because there was much poverty, and the Argentine government then gave earth and fields to the people who came from Europe in exasperating conditions...

A lot, I do not know, but as far as my family history goes, my grandparents get into it very much. Most common are Welsh and Irish. Back a many generation, it branches off, and we are related the the late Princess Di. I don't know how, I don't worry about it. too mch for me to think about, but a cool fact to know.

My moms side is German and Scottish. They all have small noses and are freckly as all hell. My Dad is half irish and half italian. I got the Italian last name. Im most proud of being Italian, but I have never been anywhere outside of the usa other than Canada so I can't really make a true objective decision on what I thought of any country. I like being Italian though and wear the name proudly.

Oh, I thought about making one of these types of threads for the brits--curious about you all over there.
But anyway, from what I'm told or over heard, my "ancestors" were living in what is now Texas before it became a part of America. I think. There was no border hopping involved or any other illegal "immigration".
I love America. I really do. And I am proud of it as well. It has given me the opportunity to live as complete a human being as possible, as in some places on the face of this planet some people are hardly afforded the treatment and care we give our pets.
As far as I am concerned with the country to the south of me:
It is only a genetic similarity that I share with those people, I know nothing of that culture and could care less. Race is old-fashion and has, for the most part, run its course. Culture is the only "race" I care about and that's why I'm an American--un-hyphenated.

my grandfather immigrated from wales when he was about 10 years old. my grandmother's family is scottish, but she was 3rd or 4th gen american.
my mother is from Japan. she met my dad in japan when he was stationed there on a naval base in about 1970 i think.
I love Japanese food, culture, history, and would love to return for a visit as i've not been there for many many years.
I'd love to visit Wales and Scotland too, probalby will someday. I've visited London and had a great time. I'd love to go back.

There is a lot of "clean nature", but the cities are as dirty as in other countries I guess. These days it's about 25C, but in the winter you can easily get temperatures like -25C.
webcam I've posted this like ten times before here at this messageboard, but it's OH so beautiful

It's pretty cool yo. You're encouraged to be an idiot because being one increases your chances of success. You get to just kind of lie around watching tv all day ignoring the rest of the world in general. As a bonus everything is 'cool' in america, for example the tv show alf. You'll probably wind up attached to some shitty corporation or another at the forehead like a conjoined twin though. That'd be cool if aphex was 2 people conjoined at the forehead, even cooler if one of them was dead. This concludes my expert opinion on the subject.

I bet in 'scandanavia', if that is even a real place, the kids have posters of their role model 'The Accordian King' on their walls like in that movie Fargo.

most of our big immigration has happened in the last 50 years, unless you count all the roman/celtic/saxon/viking/norman shit a thousand years ago and more

lol! I cannot believe that you ask that!
Trelew, Tre Lew = "Pueblo de Luis" "Town of Lewis" or something like that...
Lewis Jones
at the present time nobody speech welsh here, perhaps very very old people still do it, but not all people...
near Trelew (15 kilometers) exists a small town called Gaiman the first colonizers from Wales arrived there...
in that town welsh language is taught in all the schools/kindergartens and almost all people know to speak welsh (they follow with the customs)
Lady Diana Spencer was here before her unexpected death, she watched to me of a strange way, five seconds maybe (wtf/lol/hot face), I do not know why... well that is a little the history about Trelew and Gaiman, greetings to your teacher!
