it's possible in the sense that you can get the machinedrum
to trigger notes on the nord...as far as anything else i'm
not sure....

cool. and it's also possible to have the channels of the
nord split up and sorted out on the MD so that you can
control params of each one?

I am not sure about the midi out functions of the machine
drum. But even if its only one channel, you can sort your
midi inputs from the lead to one channel with splits and
velocity morphs for some really neat effects too.

yeh you can...the midi sequencer on the monomachine is also
really nice. the machinedrums midi sequencer is limited but
pretty ace aswell, only problem is that you lose a sound
generating engine to use a midi controller machine. check on
here for more eh, theres a wicked list of tricks and tips on
here somewhere...www.elektron-users.com

what ive done is just connected midi out from the md to the
nords midi in. now, like, when i load a midi machine, it's
real funky. it doesn't follow the notes i've programmed at
all, but it sounds fucking real insane, and kinda good
actually but i don'tknow how to control it.

how do i get it so that i can just like get it to play the
notes i want

Did you just buy a machine drum?

I have too much gear I want to get. I just binged yesterday
too. But I couldn't be happier. :)

(in answer to your question, I don't own a machine drum, and
have never used one, but my guess would be you need to
parameter lock the frequency, and then you will be able to
make notes with it. Otherwise there might be a frequency or
note select option)

Have you read the manual?

Anyways, congradulations on buying a solid drum machine. I
can't help but be envious. ;)

what'd you get yesterday?

i ought to read the manual really, man. but i don't hink
it's one of those troubleshooting things, cause it sounds
like its just trigger way too many notes at once, and it's
supposed to only do that in mono!

i highly reccomend getting the sps-1 man, cant take my hands
off of it.

I got an oberheim matrix 6r (a classic analogue rack that
allows you all these modulation options, its practically
modular) and a roland sh201. Not much to say about the
roland, aside from the fact that its solid va.

Aparently the support staff at elektron are pretty good. It
might be worth your while to email them and see what they
have to say. If it ends up being a problem with your
machine, you want to make sure that you get it resolved as
soon as possible.

its gonna be something to do with yr midi settings man, does
it seem to be sending midi notes to the nord when the the
drum hits on the machinedrum are triggered ? you'll need to
set the nords midi channel to recieve only on say channels
8-12 then set yr midi machines to transmit on those channels
only or your gonna get a mash up of midi notes from your
drum patterns goin into the nord aswell....i think theres
some midi settings stuff in the globalk menu where you can
specify what midi trigger stuff yr using for that global
"slot"...dunno if this is makin any sense..hahaha.??
i'd read the manual myself:) always a good move
oh and when you run out of banks you can midi dump it
all..kits, patterns, songs ..onto yr computer and start all
over again.aciddddddddddd
