I wanna buy headphones

For home listening.
I don't want to hear anything else than the music and
there's a lot of street noise where I live. I don't
especially want to blast the music very loud, so I want
quality at low volumes and at louder volumes if possible.
I want them to be quite comfortable (consider that I wear
glasses).

What do you advise ?

I already have sennheiser HD-437, which were very cheap. the
sound quality is not very good and I can hear the
surrounding noise as if I didn't wear them ! Anyway it is a
good quality/price ratio imo.

I've had the worst luck with headphones this past week. My
current best (and loudest) lost sound in one ear due to an
accidental tug, my next pair got hooked to a door hinge and
ripped the cord apart, and now I'm using airplane
headphones.

you can buy headphones that actually record noise and
playback the reverse frequency in real time so you can't
hear anything. (i hav't come across any that play music
aswell though) these are $100AU for the cheapest model, and
i;ve seen them for upto $700

sennheiser 595s... open model, though, so i guess you're
SHIT OUT OF LUCK. 650s if you feel extra fancy

Are these better than sennheiser 650?

Sennheiser HD600 seems good, what do you think ?

at least comparable, I would say that slightly better and
more comfortable for sure. the 770's are very very good in
terms of isolation from the surroundings and are often used
by drummers in recording studios.

I made a little mistake: DT 990 Pro,
DT 770 M.

but this might be the best choice for you. (closed,
and with silk ear-pads [?])

What about AKG ?

or should I get a HD25 for good isolation ?

you're going to need a headphone amp to go along with those.

Both of those are open headphones, Combo. Sennheiser's best
sealed headphone is the HD280 Pro

as expensive

is the 'french version' just added subtitles? or is it
dubbed?

hehe gotta love sesame street :)

Well it's the same characters but they speak in french, all
the texts are in french. the plays on words are french. The
stories might be different as well.

Well I'm sure that headphone is great but it is an open
headphone so if you "...don't want to hear anything else
than the music and
there's a lot of street noise where I live", then you might
have a problem since it will not block out any sound.

Yeah, you are right, but most good quality headphones seem
to be open. The DT 770 Pro and HD 25 are closed but they
didn't seem as good as the AKG.

that's true. if i was going to get a sealed heaphone i
would go for an in ear monitor anyway. i am going to
replace my sony earbuds (which the cable insulation decayed
on) with etymotic e4-s

running off a portable source, yes, probably need an amp for

it should be fine
