I've downaloded about 700 meg of a rather cool torrent but
no azureus is saying error data missing from one fo the
files and it wont downlaod any more? is there anyway to fix
this so that i dont have to fuck my ratio by deleting and
starting again?

recheck failed.... i deleted the torrent and it resumed
working fine. I don't know why it just went all random on
me! Azureus seems pretty shit but oink banned bitcomet :/

you altered what you downloaded: moved it, renamed it,
retagged it (also happens automaticaly when you use itunes),
deleted files

just download the torrent again and point it in the
directory that you originally saved it in, any files with a
different checksum (i.e. altered or incomplete files) will
resume. And yeah get uTorrent man. You can switch torrent
clients and resume downloads (um possibly, it depends on the
way the client handles file pieces)
