I have a new single out on my imaginary record label. This
time it's a double b side with at least one quite
summer-flavoured, quirky pop song.

Be my guest: JAI7003

haze of summer is aces..beats remind me of kim hiorthoy a
lot, but the vocals then make it sound sort of more
unique..is that you on vocals?

it's really good and summerish indeed..lovely track.
i have yet to hear that other one.

it reminds me of arthur russell, but it's sang and produced
in a sort of uplifting, happy way, like seu jorge for
example..are you planing on doing more songs this way? to
fill entire lp perhaps? :)
im glad you didn't make electronica parts to obvious..a lot
of people put it way too much and it just ruins songs imo.

not my thing all the way through, but you could do with
overdubbing your voice a few times. If you've already done
this, do it more.

if it isn't love is very psychedelic

missing some substance in the melodies.. maybe I mean
bass...

you should overdub here too and maybe do some weird variable
flanging to add to the psychedelia

Ehem.. Thank you, thank you! Arthur Russell is definitely
an influence. More songs? Well, I have loads of stuff lying
around on minidisc...some of it compares to this, I guess.

Haze of summer was recorded in 2002 on a
2-minidisc-4-channel-mixer-multitrack-system that I sat up
in my combined livingroom and kitchen. I also had a computer
jacked in and a really, really crapy mic. No vocal
overdubs.

If it isn't love was recorded in 2004 on my small Zoom 4
channel multitrack recorder. It's build around a Miles Davis
sample - the drum brake and that plucking guitar riff - and
I play guitar, bass (on the guitar) and sing on top of it
using the same mic as on the first track. The sample is
taken from an old, worn out vinyl copy of Miles Davis' Get
Up Whit It and done with a crapy old Gemini mixer that has
an 8 second sample function with looping possibilities. I've
added some of the Zooms integrated stereo chorus effects on
the guitar and vocals. That just about disects the whole
track really...
