there was a topic like this a couple days ago, but it
either got lost or nobody cared. so i think i'll try again.

i need some recommendations on good ambient music. usually i
like more light, drone-ish stuff like the happier tracks on
SAWII. someone did recommend William Basinski and so far
he's amazing... the story behind the disintegration loops
makes me even more interested in what he's doing.

so does anyone know of anything similar to this kind of
stuff that I should check out? i have too much stress in my
life lately (mostly my fault, but still), and i need
something to get my mind off some of it once in a while.
thanks in advance

maybe try manual. his music is quite nice, simple but nice.
if you want something more complex try jon hassells earlier
work.
for something darker i'd totally recomend dockstader's
aerial serie.
for something more drone oriented try out janek schaefer's
last album. for something similar try out paul bradley's
memorijas extragneras.

One album which is severely overlooked is Carbon Based
Lifeforms - Hydroponic Garden
. Its one of the best
melodic ambient albums out there.
