Spinnin' Illadelph Halflife right now and I believe I will
play Things Fall Apart later on, but right now I need a
study break

however

The Roots: Appreciated! Flawless musical outputs!

word! I so so so sooooo want to see the roots live and I
just wish I had the money when they were playing in oslo a
while back...

I need to get do you want more and organix on vinyl, but I
kind of doubt I ever will... unless someone's done a proper
repress lately...

phrenology is decent imo.. it's not their best, but still
decent and they're like Common.. overall output score: above
average!

I have The Roots Come Alive, which is great. Never heard any
other albums, but I have read that their live shows are
amazing, while their studio albums are supposedly pretty
boring.

I've only listened to Things Fall Apart, and although I'm
not particularly into hip-hop, it's quite okay. I was at a
double-concert with The Roots and AsianDubFoundation, and
strange enough, The Roots was much better.

nothing boring about their studio albums

of course it is very likely they're awesomelicious live and
that their live output is much better than their studio
stuff, but with what (good) acts isn't that the case?

you should check some of their other stuff!

..and why be surprised at them being better than asian dub
foundation? they don't have any staying power...

When I posted that, I knew the question was coming :)
I don't know really. When I saw them (2001) I think, I had
been an ADF-fan, even though they were far past their prime.
I expected The Roots to be more relaxed live, and ADB more
energic. But ADB behaved like sulky, spoiled kids, and The
Roots was supa-kool with their big afro-frks :)

the crowd pleaser MCs freeze then catch seizures

as long as it wasn't because you disliked the roots (meaning
you'd need psychological treatment), it's ok.

one of the best bands of all time. things fall apart is my
favorite, follwed closely by do you want more. questlove is
a genius and black thought is hugely underapprecaited.
