http://deepbluevibe.phpwebhosting.com/pumpkin_show.avi

there's also a link on youtube for it, unfortunately
youtube.com is down right now

but i'll post up the link to the youtube video once it's
back up.

brief information on the video:

"My first video I made way back in 2004 or so.

Synched to piano music from Aphex Twin and has an eerie feel
to it.

Filmed in Versailles, Indiana, at a festival, with a small
town feeling to it.

The festival itself is called the Pumpkin Show; hence, the
title."

I'm planning to make much more disturbing music videos to
ventolin and vordhosbn, along with some other aphex-twin
sounding songs.

critique? and yes I know it's deinterlaced, that was on
purpose.

it has a spastic feeling to it for a song with such a
pleasant feeling to it. it needs a far less frequent edit
feeling to it.

i'm not really liking the feeling to it.

seriously though, not to be harsh but, if you were trying to
make a video with "an eerie feel to it." why did you pick
Avril 14th for the music?

it's the least eerie song on an album spilling over with
eerie songs. my wife walked down the aisle to Avril 14th in
our wedding, and it was damn precious. DAMN PRECIOUS!!

Yeah, the editting was sort of strange. Funny even. I mean
that having an edit on every beat or note or whatever it is,
was kind of, well, corny. You started to break it up a
little at the end though. A fair try though. I couldn't have
done better!

i really have to question using avril 14th as wedding
music... no offense, i found it to be by far the most
disturbing song on that album.

disturbing to me isn't "dark" sounding music, disturbing to
me is piano solos like this song and "father", or "nanou 2"
etc.

also it was my first video i ever made :P no classes or
anything like that beforehand, so i didn't know to flow
between things and such and that doing every beat was bad.

thanks for the critique anyways though haha

disturbing song? LOL you silly man

I feel its the most beautiful song on there. Thats just my
opinion though. So thats why i can understand why evolume
would do that. (Good choice steve)

Anyways the video wasnt bad. Near the end i could already
start to feel it getting repetitive. Which isnt necessarily
the best thing due to the short length of the song.

I think the way you opened it with the various shots that go
with the song was good but you started losing me when the
same "gimmick" (and i use the word loosely) panned over to
involve the crowd.

It was fine to see it in the beginning but as it went on
through the course of the video it already felt played out.

My advise would be to switch up various effects and the way
its shot. Some longer shots would be ok. Various angles etc.
I see the concept you had there based on what you have said
in this thread but i really dont think it works all to
well.

I mean this as constructive. I like when people share videos
:)
