Whenever I hear a plucked acoustic guitar phrase on an abstract electronic record-- which happens a lot these days-- somewhere in the back of my mind a voice is pleading, "Please, don't repeat that exact same bit again in the next bar." More often then not, the piece does, in fact, repeat the same bit again. And again. And again. I know that voice, I know it well. |
