so i saw in the tool thread that quoth is going, as am i.
who else?

should be a good year, i cannot fucking WAIT to see daft
punk in the dance tent (hopefully ill be rolling too :D).

and of course, sigur ros, tool, massive attack and all the
rest are gonna be good fun too.

anybody got any suggestions for some of the lesser known
bands? (by lesser known i mean not well known by me) ive
heard good things about the animal collective show, and id
really like to catch paul okenfold for the shit of it.

Stay the hell away from the main stage. Especially for
okenfold, Youll be able to see his visual effects from a
mile away anyway so itll be a lot of bother over nothing.
Unless you really want to get a good look, but then youll
basically have to park your ass there all day to have a
good position. Invest you time moving in and around the
rave tents. But if you want to get really fucking close to
what you know will be a packed performance, get to the venue
atleast 2 acts early. There will be ten million fucking
people there, and when word gets out that someone is doing
something really fucking cool, theres a person standing in
every concievable vantagae point.

You know im sure thats true for every venue, but ive been
there every year except last year, when I had to go to a
wedding, and theres always too many people for the
accomidations. Every year they add more shade but they
always underestimate the crowd. I always get pissed off and
say to myself Im never comming back, but then as the
festival draws near I start getting all anxious and go
anyway.

This will one of the only years I am not going to be
attending...
I have had wonderful memories of past Coachella festivals,
but this year I thought was one of the worst lineups they
have ever had.

Be sure to check out Madonna in the SAHARA tent....

Theyre headlining bigger and bigger names, and booking too
much boring shit that everyones already tired of.

Some of my reasoning also had to do with the fact that the
acts only get MAYBE up to 75 min for thier act....
SO the headliners (Depeche Mode,Tool, etc) wont be playing a
full set as they would in a show of thier own.
I remember being so bummed when they cut off BJORK at the 1
hour mark...

I was just so stoaked to see her for the first time, but now
looking back on it, seeing her indoors and on her own tour
would have been much nicer.
I guess some of my best memories were acts that were in the
tents or on the smaller stages....

Squarepusher, Autechre, Plaid, Roni Size, St. Germain,
Fischerspooner, Dillinja, Chemical Brothers, etc....
