If you were one yourself, you wouldn't be saying that.

yeah, they get paid way too much. corrupt low-level Kenyan
bureaucrats deserve more.

I'm speaking frrom the point of view of a poorrish perrson,
of courrse, but the majorrity of fans arre worrking class
people with little money to sparre. Tickets arre a rrip off,
shirrts even morre so... even the pies and cups of tea arre
too expensive. All of this to fuel the likes of Wayne
Rooney's gambling habits.

It's not about the individuals, I'm not talking about being
envious herre, it's about the whole football/money thing in
generral.

i guess if i cared about football, i might think about it,
but i really don't care... i don't care if they shoot
steroids and lie about gambling... doesn't interest me in
the least.

Footballers don't make fuck all in the grand old scheme of
sports, look at F1 or baseball. It's all relative and it
doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game whatsoever.

i'm always surprised at how people can be got in by money, a
good example, david beckham playing at man united, he would
have MORE than enough money, yet he still goes to real
madrid, he leaves england, moves his kids, leaves the nation
he is captain of.

i'm sure i'ld if i were in that situation i would stay.

The FIFA moves more money than some of the poorest countries
put together. Fact.

I take little interest in sport I'm not competing in. I'll
watch international matches over a few pints as a social
event, but spending £1000s a year on following and
supporting a bunch of strangers kicking a pigskin around
really doesn't interest me. It's one of those things I just
don't see the attraction of.

the only thing that kinda bothers me is the differences
among team mates. you have a guy earning 200.000 euros per
week and then his team mate getting 5.000. that can suck..

The amount some of them are getting has long since gone over
the top. But it's not just the pay but what clubs are paying
for the players. Buying players for 20.000.000 pounds.
Jesus.
I think that football, or sports in general, is the only
profession where you can totally fuck up, even week after
week, and still get overpaid.

I'd agree, but I'd like to add senior management to that
group too.

sportsmen in general are overpaid. they don't do much work
compared to other occupations where you use your body a lot,
the difference is in their silly entertainment value... if
all the sports-hooked assholes in the world realised they
were contributing to one of those self-necessary (necessary
only in effect of them creating a demand for themselves)
things that just get in the way of other more important
things, the world would be a better place.

if footballers got paid the same as the average
nine-to-fiver , the extra money would alleviate world
poverty.

football sucks anyway. i dont like watching young men
running around in shorts and periodically flashing their
chest in a wet muddy field.
