great ! do you know limelite a bit ?

okay here is the problem:

i wanted to make a pimped version o limelite. it has some
really cool effect in it where you can control it via an xy
pad which records your moves.

the problem was just that the effect sits on the master
channel, and every sound is affected by the same effect.

so, i just copied the effect and linked every single sample
player to another.

reaktor

now the problem is - the effects work like they should, but
the xy controller of the first one controls the rest of the
effects... although i have duplicated it five times and the
connections don't collide with each other....

what can be the problem ?

Hold on... let me open limelite - but I suspect it's using
internal midi connections or wireless connections and when
you copied it, they were still linked to the first
controller.

Yeah I looked in limelite - there are send units wired to
the xy recorder pad, and receive units wired into each
effect.

You have to go to the connections tab in the properties of
the X and Y receive modules in each effect and make sure
they're wired to the X and Y send modules you want to use to
control the effects.

wicked i cannot find some selector like you have on that

On the front panel right click on the dropdown menu that
selects the type of effect, choose "show in structure", then
drill down into one of the effects.

yeah know i got it - it was in every ones effect table...

shit... i changed the wireless outputs of the other xy's but
i in the "connect" list in the receive channles (on your
pic) they don't exist...

aaa ok got it. i think

That's weird... the receive modules in this thing don't
specify what send module to receive from. I guess by default
it takes from the sends with the same name unless you tell
it otherwise.

yeah i got it !! thanks a bunch.... yeah yeah yeah that's
just too great :D but that will be a bitch to connect this
all :/

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2006-04-06 11:24 [#01873533]
Points: 18042 Status: Lurker

Oh I'm an idiot. The send to use is specified on the gears
tab of the receive module's properties. Doh!

is there a way to... hm ... colourize the connected channels
? that would be great if i could for example colour every
port that is wirelessly bonded with channel x1 for example
blue...

freezer ??

yeah i can imagine what it means to know reaktor :D

offline sadist from the dark side of the moon on 2006-04-07 12:36 [#01874440]
Points: 8670 Status: Lurker

thanks for the reply - but that didn't still solve one
problem.

i laready got it how to connect all the wireless channels.
the problem is that reaktor doesn't let me connect a receive
channel to the multplier... the cable just won't get in
there.

how can i control the "constant" measure ??

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2006-04-07 12:56 [#01874454]
Points: 18042 Status: Lurker

Not enough information to figure out your problem. :-/

If the multiplier goes into an event module you won't be
able to connect a receive with audio rate source to it. Is
the send coming from an audio rate source (black dot for
connector)?

Points: 8670 Status: Lurker | Followup to fleetmouse: #01874454

erm... now lets say that i have this multiplyer.

but i don't like the constant "7" and i would want to
control it with a knob/fader/list.

is that possible ? if yes - how ??

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2006-04-07 13:18 [#01874469]
Points: 18042 Status: Lurker

You should be able to connect a knob/fader/list directly.
But then it might not show up on the panel if the macro it's
in isn't set visible.

But really, you should be able to connect a receive. Is it
in one of the effects? Which one?

offline sadist from the dark side of the moon on 2006-04-07 13:20 [#01874471]

it's the freeze effect. that small bugger just won't let me
connect it...

Have you tried setting the midi cc #'s of each effect to a
different number?

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2006-04-07 13:22 [#01874474]
Points: 9958 Status: Lurker

Ahh. Nevermind, its been solved.

but that hasn't really anything to do with midi ?

hey WTF ?? !!

"cannot open ensemble - sample map i corrupt" ?? !!

WTF WTF WTTFWTF ??

Yeah. The CC#'s are midi control change
numbers

you were right with this "visible" thing - when i set the
effect visible it works fine.

anyway - for the future - is there any way to make i
different ??

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2006-04-07 13:30 [#01874493]

But in this case the send and receive modules aren't
exchanging midi.

Sadist, sounds like you have bigger problems...

My advice is, don't try to reverse engineer or modify
something as complex as limelite just yet. Start with
something simpler.

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2006-04-07 13:34 [#01874496]

Hmmm. Do you have a copy of the ensemble that could be
emailed to me? I usually do better with advice like this
when I see what is in front of me.

thanks taxi but i don't think it's worth it. i mean i don't
want to disturb you two with every simple question after
just two days of experimenting with reaktor!

reaktor really caught me - and i already hate that prog for
stealing my time because i feel i will sit on it forever....

but i just discovered one thing in myself that i hope i'll
figure out - i'm just somehow overreacting with this prog.
you know what i mean?

i had to start my ensemble about 4 times from scratch
because i just made something, then i added one function,
another funciton, and so on and so on till suddenly just
glitchy rubbish floats through my speakers.
instant-devine...

so i think i should start with tweaking myself first :>

offline sadist from the dark side of the moon on 2006-04-10 07:27 [#01876244]
Points: 8670 Status: Lurker

okay - after some tweaking and copying i finally could make
something with this.

if someone's interested

the second track got much better imho - but you can hear the
audio dropouts because i didn't clean the reaktor interface
yet and it eats up my cpu 90 % !!

have fun
