each European needs 2000-4000m2 standing, productive forrest, if all paper is to be produced from virgin fibre. Paper consumption in West European countries around 225 kg/capita, USA 330kg/capita, Norway 260kg/capita. This is equal to 240 - 500kg wood/capita year.
Global paper demand 5-fold increase last 40 years, and expected to double the next 10 years.
42% (128mill tons) is based on on recycled fibres.
If we haven`t had any recycling of paper and board, we needed to half the consumption (for having sustainable forests)...
