there's plenty to see once you're in new york. I'm sure
there's stiuff inbetween. Just be careful. I went on a
roadtrip across the states last year, and one of my lasting
memories is the coffee. They have cigarette flavour. I don't
think it'll take off over here.
Also, you might get annoyed that every single restaurant
gives you 8 portions on one plate, and it's all so mediocre.
But meh, it'll be one of the best times of your life
regardless...unless you get murdered by some juliette lewis
/ woody duo.

be sure to visit amoeba records in la. avoid texas, you are
missing nothing. also if you eat at a waffle house (pork
chops and eggs anyone?) go to the jukebox and play the
waffle house theme song

Go to Denny's. Good food. Strange people. Go to massive
truck stops. They are the best on the road. I drove cross
country too. You can go north, south, or down the middle.
Visit the grand canyon. Vegas. Avoid Barstow. There is so
much to see. Hard to give advice. I'm sure there are plenty
of sites. If you are in California you have to drive route 1
and see the red woods. Route 1 is the best drive.

Cheap food in the usa is great. You should go to Phily's
south street too. Get a cheese steak!

DO IT ~!
very cheap (compared to gas) a little slow, but then you
will be able to take it all in, trians will go thru
mountains, wetlands, ect...

depends on the time of the year.

you should def visit some national parks. Yellowstone in
the north is amazing. lots of wilderness preserves all over
the states. see some mountains, some rivers, vast forests
and such. the national parks are probably the best the US
has to offer. as far as sight seeing goes anyway.

yeah, totally. fly into seatac. spend a few days in
seattle, then drive out to Mt. Rainier National park, one of
my favorite places to visit in the world.

then drive down through Oregon, visiting many State and
National parks. Stop in Portland, drink fine ales and
microbrews, do a little sales tax free shopping. Drive
further south into California, stopping at many beautiful
Pacific Ocean Beaches on the way. and visiting the Redwoods
to see some of the worlds biggest trees.

That is a fine road trip i've made several times.

I did New York to L.A on the Greyhound. Greyhounds are a
real adventure but don't expect to be massively comfortable!
Theres some mental people to meet this way. A 6 foot 5 black
chap with dreds and hot pants told me i was on the same
blood line as King Soloman. I felt honoured obviously.

I did a bit on Amtrak- New York to Chicago. It was really
nice but a bit more pricey.

Grand Canyon is awe inspiring, as is Amoeba records. They
don't have vinyl listening posts tho :-(

Swing by my LA pad if you want. At first I will be a more
than genial host, regaling you with tales of Hollywood and
all the hot chicks I've banged. But as the evening
progresses I will get shitted on whisky and cocaine and soon
you will feel threatened and uneasy by my wild moodswings.
Eventually I will totally flip out, and even though you try
and run, I will pursue you on my motorbike and hunt you
down and you will fucking rue the day you set foot at the
Hopper estate.

So, in summary, welcome.

Fuckers.

hmmmmmm you don't sound american at all. got a real uk
vibe about you. i'll bet you've been here before. probably
been banned. biding your time to make sure you could slip
under the radar undetected. lurking in the shadows and so
on.

anyway, welcome to xlt!
