i know cc is more establised [and has one killer album
under his belt] but i see these two as being two of the best
young talents out there who will be carrying the torch for
years to come...thoughts?

I haven't liked anything that Clark has done. Maybe "Slow
Spines" on a good day.

I don't know who "prhizzm" is.

I never thought about any link between the two before but
there is a sort of a similarity... in emotion (sorry
for the gayness) and, er. etc.

It's wednesday. wine day.

The Prhizzm ep is great. I've listened to that rather a lot.
More than Clarence Park it must be said. Well, it doesn't
have to be said. But I said it anyway. Or at least I typed
it. um.

wine.

Chris Clark is a copycat. Prhizzm is equally less
inspirational.

clark is a copycat? of who? i think he his own sound...and
i think prhizzm brings alot to the table, mainly
progression..alot of his tracks cover a lot of ground in 3-5
minutes staying fresh and emotional...

Ok sorry. I didn't know you knew shit all about music.

I like the sounds that prhizzm uses, and that there's a lot
packed it, and that there's tunes but not ones that get
nauseating. tunes in "electronica"/whatever you want to call
it  can often not work, and not work very badly.

i've no more wine. i'm on to toffee donuts.

I'm definitely a prhizzm man, myself, though I've heard good
things about the furniture album from clark.... I'll have to
pick it up

JivverDick..i dont know "shit all" about music...we are
discussing music here..its all opinion..you say clarks a
copycat and i ask of who? no harm, no foul...relax..apology
accepted

i agree xceque, i especially like that he crafts his own
vids as well, have you seen any of them? amazing..the one
for minutiae is sick...if you can cram an image of a woman
driving a motorcycle with a sheep dog riding side car into
your music, you are ok in my book

I know shit all about music. I readily admit it. I know what
I like thought. I suppose if everyone liked the same stuff
it'd be a bit dull. If everyong could spot from where any
music was originating, or derived if that's how you feel (or
if that's how "one" feels I should say, but that sounds
gay).

I suppose it's a fine line between inspired and derivative,
and between er, oh something or other. i've completely lost
the thread of what I was saying and i've got bits of donut
and sugar between my keys.

actually, if everyone like the same sort of music probably
everyone would be happy since all music would be the same
and thus be liked.

i'd also like to apologise for spelling mistakes in my
previous post, and in this one.

I will also say sorry if that post sounded bitchy or
sarcastic cos it wasn't supposed to: sorry. Assuming anyone
is reading this. Or cares. Which they probably don't. I'll
go to bed before i talk any more rubbish.

IDM nerds sleeping on the cream of the crop Clark and
Phrizzm.

and I always stated that Phrizzms EP is the best electronic
EP ever imo.

that prhizzm packs a lot into each tune...im surprised that
there arent more fans of his here, he does really creative
stuff

offline csl on 2006-03-16 17:29 [#01861481]
Points: 130 Status: Lurker

there's a melody in the last track off the prhizzm ep (at
~3:40 or so) that sounds very much like the flute lead in
cc's lord of the dance, which might help draw a parallel
between the two. also, the chord sequence (quite a popular
one, generally) is very similar. perhaps you're hearing
this, jules?

prhizzm has quite a 'rock' sound, perhaps a little prog
rock. empty your mind slightly resembles pink floyd's
'welcome to the machine' i think (the first part anyway).

offline jules from United States on 2006-03-16 17:34 [#01861483]
Points: 754 Status: Lurker

prhizzm is definitley progressive, one of may fav things
about him...can see what youre saying about floyd tune but
only because of that low drone sound in the beginning..last
track on his ep is shorter than 3:40 though, cant find the
lord of the dance comparison

I didn't expect a comment like that from you tbh... if Chris
Clark is a copycat, then who isn't on the Warp roster?

I've to check on Prhizzm soon.

shadows...

but apart from this similarity i can't find anything else
common between the two.

He is alright live and fun to nod along to, but his set is
just near-exact copies of album tracks blended a bit. It's
not very dynamic, really. Dunno about him ripping anyone
else off, as i'm quite ill-informed and have a shite memory
anyway.

Honestly Jules, are the 'new' clark melodies directly a
result of richards melodies or not?

honestly, what isnt a result of rdj melodies? but with all
due respect:: im tired of dick james, i dont think hes made
a new track since the late 90s...druqs is bad ass, despite
the fact that im willing to bet that more than 75% of it was
picked from shite alreay on his hard drives...26 mixes for
cash is exactly what it says, and the chosen gaylord series
are tracks leftover from even further back...i really dig
chris' crunchy cold sound and how he can make 3 minutes
sound like a long track
