Can the use of computers lead to eye problems ? As I'm
gonna use a computer nearly all day long in my work, I'm a
bit scared about that. Anybody knows anything ?

Yeah I didn't take a break one day after using the computer
for a while, and my eyeball removed itself and ran off in
protest. Haven't seen it since.

keeping your eyes set at a focal length would not be unlike
holding your arm in a certain position. discomfort is likely
but anything more longterm would differ between people. i
myself am very susceptible to eye strain so i never could be
a programmer. there are techniques for eye exercise.

CRT monitors can cause stress to the eyes if the refresh
rate isn't high enough, but LCD monitors are pretty sweet
when it comes to keeping your eyes happy

CRT's do damage (the big monitors)

the LCD's do less damage.

it's not the computer screen that'll ruin your eyes. its
all the wanking.

My PC can make be bloody tired if I'm on there for ages,
that's all I know.
That's why I took up soldering and electronics. You burn
your fingers and inhale fumes that both damage your lungs
and your ability to learn, but at least I'm not as tired as
I was!!!!

it would seem that computers affect people's capacity of
thought first, rather than their eyes.
