The Advantage

This is a 4-piece band that seems to do covers of 8-bit
songs in general.

I just heard a few excerpts from tracks of theirs on last.fm
(their last.fm page) and was very impressed. really tallented
drummer and nice guitar playing.

Something worth checking out.

ps - their official page doesn't seem to load, but the
cached google version does.

i think there was just a thread about this. yep

anyway, yeah, they're pretty cool. i'm really not a fan of
video game music in particular, but they do some interesting
stuff.

oops! :) still not used to the search facility
functioning.

and yes, for once, i agree 100% with what you say about
their music :) i don't particularly like 8-bit stuff either,
couldn't even tell that's what they were doing when i
listened to their samples. interesting though, yes. glad i
came across them.

another gem from last.fm :)

my favorite is definitely marble madness.

there are actually quite a few bands like this in the states
(that perform only video game music). i'm under the
impression that the advantage is the most famous one.

It's really easy to make the music they're playing sound
good, but they make it sound better than most. They rock and
they have good taste in level themes. Batman Level 1 is a
masterstroke.

from mario TWO.

BOMBERMAN 2-WIGGY

I'M TELLING YOU GUYS

BOMBERMAN 2-WIGGY

although it has a lot to do with saskrotch's broken needles
2 mix.. when i first got that, i listened to that bomberman
2 track a million times , with it mixed with that []pusha
track.

it's funny, i jus found out about them today, but i'd say
they've jumped to the number 1 spot in my most listened
artists of the week on last.fm. we'll see tomorrow when the
chart is compiled....

hasn't the whole 8-bit romantization thing gone a bit too
far now? i see these fucking indie emo sluts pose with 1 up
shirts and post about how much they love mario 1 on their
myspace sites all the time now! retrotrendy internet, i hate
you.

that said, this may be good, but the mp3 links on the site
don't work for me.
