i just came back from the cinema after watching this

in my opinion, the best film to have a cinema release in the
past 2 or 3 years

but then again my opinion means shit

anyone else see this?

not yet, but I thought it looked decent. You're the second
person with a sound mind to say good things of it, so
perhaps I'll see it.

I saw the review on BBC world talking movies, and it looked
very intriguing.

well, i mean it. :)

most people here seem to have good taste in cinema. i don't
watch as many movies as I should, so I'm always looking for
recommendations.

Bad art (bad music, movies) literally cause me physical
pain, so I'd like to avoid them.

no, but i wanted to see if for the cinemotogrpahy; didnt
give much about the story (or lack of story, so i hear)

but some of the scenes looked really really good.

aquagak

honestly it is very very good. it's the only film i've
actually been excited to see at the cinema for years and
years (quite literally)

Oddioblender

yes, most people on here have great taste

and yes, bad music/films/etc cause me pain also

i nearly had a hernia watching DOOM, but i knew that was
gonna happen already - i had to watch so i could see how
much they got wrong

cinematography is fucking excellent. unfortunately because
of all the fucking mongs in the cinema leaving early, i
missed the credits so i don't know who was director of
cinematography etc etc etc.

some fantastic shots though man....and if there was
CGI in there, it was damn fucking good because i didn't
notice any at all

hahaha! i don't watch videogame-based movies anymore.
licensed movies in general make me want to vomit, though I
did like HP: Prisoner of Azkaban. (I prefer the books
though) Haven't seen Goblet of Fire yet, but HP fans seem to
dig it.

Good to hear. Films that overly use CGI are starting to bug
me.

indeed. remember legend? or how about alien?

NO CGI - and those movies STILL hold up.

on the cgi tip i think 'naked lunch' is among the best
non-cg fx work

also jarhead was edited entirely in final cut, so i'd like
to see it just for that reason...

it was funny but ultimately a bit bland. like skull fucking
a puppy.

cant wait - sam mendes has surpassed my expectations from
cinema with his last (and only) 2 films; american beauty and
road to perdition. your review doesnt surprise me... just
cant wait.
