When i tyr to cue some records, the weight i push on the vinyl with my hand to prevent it from turning has to be VERY VERY weak if i don't want the record to skip. That's a problem for me, i can't usually cue properly without skipping a few times before i really grab the beat...
On the other hand I don't want to put too much weight an the armtone in order not to fuck my vinyls up.
Advices ?

Set anti skating to 0
Weight has to be just right, too heavy or too light can cause it to skip

anti-skate should be the same as the weight when listening and 0 when scratching.

it shouldn't be on with the ortofons. take it off...
the only weight you're supposed to have on is the large one that you twist.. the one with the numbers and stuff.. the other one (see illustration) shouldn't be on.

Not to be unkind, but if you've got mk2s & concordes and the problem occurs on both decks, it's either your technique or the way you have it setup.
As you have concordes, it's going to be the deck (no possibility headshell/cart alignment/overhang problem). Make sure the table/whatever they're on is secure and robust (a mate had a wallpaper pasting style folding table that rocked about when you scratched and wondered why it was skipping!)
If the anti-skate/tonearm is setup correctly and your speakers aren't right next to/on the same surface as your decks, it's your technique.

Do you put your counterweight on backwards or forwards, out of interest?

Some people reckon it reduces skipping when scratching, but I'm sceptical.
I almost forgot to post this link. It's designed for Shure m-447s on tech12s, but a lot of info is pertinent to other carts/decks.

WRONG
i have the additional screw on weight between the headshell and the cartridge & the addtional weight on the tone arm (the original black / silver weight is backwards due to my hiphop upbringing) - this makes my tone arm much more solid and harder to move by scratching etc etc...
just be careful that the arm is balanced correctly and you dont hurt your records !

ortofons are too light for the weight. the "put-weight-on-when-it's-over-10-grams" rule only applies to things that have to be attached to the headshell that comes with the 1210s.. ortofons come with their own headshell-ish thingie for better performance.

I can't see why it should do anything at all.. I think it's psychological... the only effect would be that more of the weight could be shifted towards the pivot point (approx the difference between the backside and the sloped front and plastic dial, if that makes sense), and I don't think we're talking large numbers here...

Yep, the weight near the pivot point is the only benefit I can see and even that probably wouldn't make much difference (if you deduct 2g from the tracking force you enter to offset this). You see some people doing it at DMC, but I think that's largely part of the showmanship, "Wow, check this guy out, he's changing the decks around since the last guy, he must be good!" :)

well, I did a search, and with the limited amount of relevant information returned on google, this was the only reason I can find:
Tip – a lot of people put the counter-weight on backwards so they can wean out a little more weight from it.
I'd like to measure that difference.. I don't think it's much, and with the ortofons, it isn't necessary...

the ortofon scratches are sick, althougH I recorded something tonight and noticed that one one cartridge the left channel is slightly (about 0.5db) quieter than the right. You can't notice it when you're listening, but still I would like it to be perfect. Any ideas?

hmm.. that sounds weird...
check all the cables and see if they're on straight... other than that, maybe cleaning that contact base thingie where the stylus meets the headshell? it says what to use and what not to in the manual...
other than that, it's not hard to compensate using the gains and channel faders...
