This is not a thread for opinions. This is a thread for
fact.

I finally heard an album that really stopped me.

alva noto + ryuichi sakamoto - insen

-----------

I've never heard something quite like this before. I spend
alot of my time dedicated to diversity. I listen to it all.
Classic rock, punk, harcore, lazz, blues

These are things I like.

This album is something i've wanted to do in my head. When i
play piano this is how it sounds to me. I strive to create
things that are beautiful to me. I was beat to the punch. If
you were to ask me last week "hey panders... whats you
favorite album?" i could give you 20 constantly changing
answers. There wasnt a definitive.

There is something about this album. While describing it to
someone else i refered to it as "heartbreakingly genius"

This is everything i always wanted. To me i think i just
found the perfect album. Not something i like. Not something
i find cool. Not the next fad or something i like because my
friend likes it.

An honest album that i put in the CD player only to discover
that i cannot listen to music anymore. Something that
stopped me. Something that distracted me. An actualization.

I've never really heard an album that affected me. I've
heard crap i liked. I've heard things that were cool or got
me going otr in the mood for an occasion.

This to me is art in its most beautiful form. I think this
is something that all music lovers are seeking weather they
knoiw it or not. Everyone is different and has a variety of
tastes. I have mine and i found something that i consider
"it"

This isnt your typical album.

hats off to those involved!

Hmm, that sounds stupid. I'll be sure to not look into it.
moldy pseudo aural poop sound sung by bob sagat in the voice
he uses to parody cute animals. THAT's what it is. THAT's
what YOU like to listen to. Which makes sense because of how
idiotic you are. Now if you want to go listen to some of
your yucky poop music and cry about how heartbreakingly
genius it is, go right ahead. but just remember, it's only
"genius" RELATIVE to you because you are so stupid. My
mental capacity does doughnuts and 360s around this shit. I
listen to REAL shit like prince and MC hammer. If you think
THAT shit is genius you'd better stay away from these guys
little man. They are for the big boys. I have to pooop now.
Sincerely,
tyranosaurus rex

I was prepared to write this off as yet another thread
ruined by wmwmwmwmwwmwm trying too harde to be funny but
signing the post tyranosaurus (sic) rex was an unexpected
twist of creativity that made me titter.

A++ would read alva noto thread again! Sakamoto also did a
thing with Fennesz this year that was pretty good.

VP, you must listen to the new Murcof, it should also appeal
to you. In places it sounds like Insen, but is generally
more full and varied. If you haven't heard his previous
effort Martes, try that one too, but I find the use of
classical instruments on Remembranza a bit more refined,
they blend in better.

This album is adorable, I want to squeeze it. More pretty
and less out-there experimental than I expected. Some nice
interaction between Sakamoto's piano and Alva Noto's harsh
one zero one zero gating, creating structure instead of
being only a wash of meandering piano and clicks.

remotely mainstream?

i'll have to check it out..i think they picked it as nr.1 in
wire magazine as well. the thing why i haven't checked it
yet is because i don't like the glitchy, warm sound any
more..could be this is likable tho :)

i disagree with "This is not a thread for opinions. This
is a thread for fact."
, but i agree about it being an
amazingly beautiful album... (and one of the best of 2005
for sure...) thanks for mentioning it! : )

(if you're reading this and haven't checked this album yet,
please do. worth every second and every penny.)
