Happy Mondays Question.

I remember hearing and acid house remix of "Wrote for Luck"
by the Mondays on the radio a couple of months ago. I'm not
really a massive fan of the band, but I liked that track,
it's not the Paul Oakenfold (Think about the Future) remix.
It's a more acid-ish style of tune. Does anybody know who
did it? It might be Andrew Weatherall but maybe not.

This is what's wrong with Britain today, a lack of work
ethic. Get on your bike and find out for your fucking self,
you've heard of the Internet haven't you? My dad never
dragged himself out of Peckham by sending letters to
strangers saying "I heard a rock n roll song the other day,
what was it?"

And I hope for your sake it wasn't the Vince Clark mix,
cause he was in a band with a gay man, and that could make
you come over a little queer *chortle chortle*

The only thing wrong with Britain is it's full of pacis.

I can say that, right?

Hey guy, just cool it with these negative and homophobic
comments. You might say that you're joking or perhaps being
"ironic", but words can still hurt, you know.

It is the Vince Clarke mix, finally got the vinyl today. Not
that I would condone listening to indie music or anything
like that.

yet you howl with laughter when gervais makes exactly the
same racist and homophobic comments ;)

Swears' Quandry: Happy Mondays.
Pros: Working Class
Cons: Indie
Solution: Profess to only like the working class genre Acid
House remix version that is certifably not Indie.

Since when did I prefer "working class" music then? I'm sure
you'll come up with some of your usual straw man bollocks.

I insinuated it from you saying you didn't like Indie, which
is usually looked down upon, rightly or wrongly, as being
middle class. I'm basing it on class as it can't be on
music, as "indie" isn't really a music genre.

Is it? I think most people are well aware of working class
indie bands like The Mondays or Oasis. Hell, even the singer
from Belle and fucking Sebastian grew up on a council
estate.

Flowered Up were better than the Mondays, anyway.

I like a lot of the early acid stuff, I dunno, there's a
strange, futuristic edge to it. You've probably been put off
house music by all the shitty commercial records that have
come out in the last fifteen years.

I think I've gone so far down the path of mental illness and
self delusion that I've come out the otherside with some
crystal clear clarity that, perversly, is maddening in its
lucidity.

I stick by my Flowered Up claim, despite being wrong on all
counts.

i MEANT to say:

you're barmy that's what you are, staying out all hours

then you were supposed to reply with:

oh don't worry, i ain't gona turn into a pumpkin, am i

then i'd smile a rye smile as yet again only i would know
what the fuck i was talking about and then go on with my
daily business as if nothing consequential had happened :)

I been listening to all that good stuff since I was
thirteen. You have to be into it to "get it". I find a lot
of regular guitar music boring and samey. I mean, The
Libertines, what's all that about?

It's kinda commercialised acid. You can tell Vince Clarke
has been to a couple of raves and thought: "I could do
that!"

Anyone remember that one?
