no stand ups have ever made me laugh

tv-shows: ..well.. though these don't actually run on my tv,
I guess they are tv shows... Excel Saga and Cromartie High.

Films: These will probably be more, like, what's recently
made me laugh... Ichi the Killer, The Life Aquatic, The
Anchorman (though I have to watch it sober to know if it
really would make me laugh), Total Recall was just on the tv
a while back.. always cracks me up... I can't remember
more...

Film wise, I reckon National Lampoon's Vacation takes some
beating.

Also:
Ghostbusters 1.

saw pauly shore a few weeks ago, as much as you people like
to beat him up, im sure his potty mouth and talking
extenuisely (sp?) about sex/women would have thrilled the
gang

oh snap. David Letterman is on in 2 minutes, hes the
fun-knee

There was this duo i was searching for a while ago. i forgot
what they were called. I had to pinch my dick to keep from
pissing the place .... thats how funny they were. It was
amazing my face hurt.

oh, well... some things that i have found the most funny
lately: tom goes to the mayor, the best show on wfmu with
tom scharpling, the office (the real show, not the fucking
american shit), this, the colbert report, and the
occasional messageboard post by funny ePeople.

In regards to stand-up, I havent found any new
material lately thats really good except for Aries Spears'
set at the Ice House. Even chappelle's latest effort is
hardly worth mentioning. I think Margeret Cho just came out
with a new DVD. I havent seen it yet, though I doubt it'll
be any good considering her last one. I think maybe Patton
Oswald has new material out but I havent looked into it yet.

I generally dislike stand-up, especially the "ha-ha" kind.
Is there any other kind? yes. The only people to get me
going are George Carlin (#1), Bill Hicks, Lenny Bruce and
SOME Mitch Hedberg and SOME Richard Pryor.

movies and series - well, monty python obviously...
actually: nothing surpasses them, I think. The whole of
Flying Circus is pure magic. But I like some later Britcom
too - it's just that most of it is pale compared to Idle,
Palin &co.

Excel Saga and Puni Pumi Poemi were hilarious anime.

But I'm missing on so much right now! I breathe comedy: I
can't rememeber every breath I take.

National Lampoon made me laugh when I was 10. Did I use to
be more naive and receptive, or just more stupid?

I just saw some mitch hedberg for the first time recently
and it was funny. Usually I think standup is really stupid.

I like to lisen to this radio phone-in in Liverpool called
"The Pete Price Show". It's not meant to be funny, but when
people ring in to wind him up (sort of like the radio
equivalent of trolling) it makes me LOL to the extreme.

Standup would be Bill Hicks, Mitch Hedberg and David Cross.

Shows would be Mr. Show, Home Movies, Seinfeld, Curb
Your Enthusiasm, Extras, Futurama, MST3k etc.

Movies... hm. Can't really remember. Ed Wood. But it's not
just a comedy, it's a masterpiece in many senses!

David Cross is an excellent stand up.

BUT, he has a real ego centric style which can be kind of
annoying. He reminds me a lot of this drummer from
Minneapolis, David King. King makes a lot of very funny
jokes in between songs in what can be considered semi-stand
up comedy, and it gets to be tedious especially when
alienates his band members with jokes...

Anyways, what I like more about Bill Hicks is that he seems
to be not as confident and sure about himself and so it
makes him go the extra mile with body language and intense
shouting.

I think Cross is best when he talks about politics, less so
when it's more personal. although it's always funny when he
gets really angry at something (for example, Evanescence).

Bill Hicks is great, but he repeated a lot of material and
ideas.

but he was still quite young when he died, so who knows
where he would've gone, materialwise.
