I saw Squarepusher live last night in Koko, London.
Probably the best live experience I've had out of all the musicians we talk about here. Great bass playing, a really interesting 20 minute jazz improv thing at the beginning with a drummer and saxaphonist, and he played all his classics (with new bass solos and live effects and all that jazz.)
Steinbolt (sp?) of Ultravisitor was probaly the best track, along with Come On My Selector.
Was anyone else there?

I was at the Notts one and it was mind-blowing.
Wasn't as good as Autecre in April, but what is?

I thought this was superior to Autechre's live show. He really played with the audience, and I guess I just prefer watching a musician perform. I loved his blatant showing off.

Who played saxophone and percussion? Was it Paul Hession and Alan Wilkinson?

They were especially good, the way he improvised and "abused" his classics.
I'd have liked more of that jazz stuff. I was just getting into it, and it finished. Still an amazing show, though.

I think Vibert deserves a mention here. He did funky melodies bordering on the dissonace, granted, squarepusher did the same later on with a brilliant chord sequence.
The jazzy bit I think lasted it's deserved time- don't get me wrong it was brilliant, I just stood there in awe half expecting that saxophone to blow up; but towards the end it was starting to become less awe inspiring. (I guess my ears were desensitized).
And this thread can't die without Anstromm Feck 4 being mention- the way the crowd exploded in almost orgasmic climax will never leave my mind- it was absolutely manic.

:)- do you agree with me though that there were too many people on the dance floor just standing (not even nodding their heads). I t really pis,ses me off, that floor was crowded and valuable dancing space was being taken up by these inconsiderates. And it's not like there was no where else to stand, there there were 3 effin floors, 3 effin bars and a multitude of semi-secluded seating areas where you could still see the stage due to the number of screens and tv's.
My friend asked a guy who was standing on the dance floor "when are you gonna dance then?" and the twat replied "none of your effin business"- he did move away though so there was no need to get angry about the rudeness.
