"bonus tracks"

you know that shit asshole musicians do where they leave 5
minutes of silence then have a "hidden track"

first off...its not hidden

second off...just cause i wasted 5 minutes listening to
nothing doesnt make the song more powerful

third...quit...it's a fucking gimmick and it's ANNOYING - i
just makes me open soundforge and cut out silence - that is,
if the track is good, which it usually isn't

fuck off bonus tracks

evil dildo on placebo's second album works very, very well;
15 or so minutes of silence and it very eerily and creepily
starts playing and builds up in a great crescendo.

i'm going to be shot down to fuck for saying good things
about placebo.

how do you feel about the stuff prefuse did on one word
extinguisher? there's no silence, but there's no way to know
the tracks are there before the "last" track finishes and a
new one starts playing.

When I was about 12, I found the hidden track on Nevermind,
and I was really made up! Ah, the 90's.

the hidden track on ash's brilliant 1977, which contains no
music whatsoever, makes me feel ill

on Nevermind it was really abusive... 15-20 minutes of
silence or so...

some bonus tracks are among the best tracks on the album
sometimes. 'Diskobox' on Odelay and 'Send a message to her'
on Guero by Beck, for example...

I like the ones that you have to skip backwards to find the
hidden track. Or the one on Marilyn Manson's Antichrist
Superstar which is thematically track #99, also on that Tool
record Undertow.

The little "hidden" bloops and bleeps tacked on to LP 5 are
great. I can't think of any other instances where I've
appreciated any hidden tracks. Usually they annoy me.

what the heck are you talking about? there's no hidden
track on nevermind.

there is one, but not on all versions of the album.

it's called "Endless, Nameless".

hidden, bonus, whatever

the annoyance is the silence not the music

many bonus tracks are great, but make it a seperate track so
i dont have to

like on hip hop albums when the skits are at the beginning
of a song instead of the end of the one before it - makes
you have to fast forward through it

Ha that placebo track is ace! With the freaky answer phone
voice at the end. This is before they went gay of course.

What about the classic secret track, the Alanis Morrissette
one?? I know you all know what I mean so forget the
ignorance!

I like bonus tracks.* I just ordered two Sonic Youth albums
from Japan just because of the extra tracks...

(* but there's not much fun in them if they're TWO minutes
long as Autechre's latest bonus track - "Zürich 2001" on
the japanese untilted)

get vinyls. if there are hidden tracks (rare), you can see
it...

the roots ALWAYS have hidden tracks, and on the vinyls, they
just stick to not writing them as a tracklist while on the
cds, there's silence...
