I like Miles. I don't own this recording, but was very close to buying it once. Now i'm regreting it over and over again.
"Nefertiti" and "In a silent way" is alsoo good. And what about "A kind of Blue"?

Still the absolute shit. Miles has released an incredible amount of great albums, but this is still the best. The flow of these songs is unmatched, I can't believe they've actually been edited.

one of the creative highlights in musical history. i have to be in the right mood to appreciate it though. but when i am, there's nothing that can top it.
props for the artwork too, btw. it's as brilliant as the record itself.

I prefer his first recordings, workin' steamin' relaxin' cookin'...
Straight jazz from the 60s!
Fussion never did it for me...
Got the record anyway. Almost 20 by Miles...

Now, after 2 years I'm much more into Coltrane' mid-60's sound. Unmatched; raw and truly spiritual.

Whenever I have trouble sleeping I put on Ascension. By the time the first version is over, all stress is gone and I can do my thang. Having said that, Freddie Hubbard's solos are my least favorite of the bunch. FUSION.

I always though Coltrane didn't quite reach Miles' level of ... formulation, but he's still one of my favorite jazz musicians. On the Corner is disliked? I didn't know that, I think it's quite good. Can get a bit tiring sometimes, but still has a lot of good parts.
