Do/did anyone elses parents argue *all* the time when they were younger? Mine argue about the stupidest things and just this morning they had one about something really small and my dad went apeshit (more so than I've ever seem him go before) and first threw a mug across the room at other plates and stuff, then proceeded to walk round the house shouring profanities. He then got in his car and has gone AWOL. It it usually his fault cos my mum has a really peaceful nature and they just clash when she acts calm about everything. He's gone missing before and stayed out all night and stuff, but what irritates me the most is my mums got a lot on her plate at the moment without him acting like a dick. Then there's me, kinda on my own just whistling or flicking through a tv page like it not happening. Sometimes I wish they'd split up (which I think will eventually happen, even if for a short amount of time).
Can't wait till uni, no wonder I picked one as far aay as I could get.

Yep, the pressure upon individuals to accumulate the symbols of material wealth do fuck people's lives up. Its all bullshit. But then how would the rich get rich if we didn't work like dogs and then pay them vast sums of money for the goods and services we actually produce?
If you're going to uni then that's a good thing. You can start a life for yourself, meet new people, start up new relationships. All you can do is be there for your parents when they need you. However you must carve out a life for yourself. Its THEIR problem and THEIR life. They've made their choices, its time to make yours without the pressure of your parents difficulties.
Sorry man. I'm being really patronising. Its just my girlfriend has gone through it over the past few years. Its sometimes harder at this age as your parents don't try and hide what's going on like they may have when you were younger.
I'll stop babbling now.

Nah, I completely agree, they are adults and its up to them but its still pretty upsetting, especially when you've lived with them for so long.

Whats worse is that when I try to talk to my brother about it (who lives on the other side of the world) he acts like its some kind of joke and nothing serious, which really annoys me
