i like danger mouse, his stuff w/ jemini was good even
though jemini is boring -

but i gotta say...i dont give fuck one about mf doom and i
simply dont get what all the fuss is about over him

am i missing something?

i grew up on hip hop and love it non-stop - but his style is
just juvenile and REALLY forgetable

mf doom is great, in my opinion

its really up to you whether or not you like it right? some
dig it some dont, not everybodys gonna like it

i love the danger doom CD, if you had to say which song you
liked the most which would it be?

well heres the thing...everyone talks about doom like he is
amazing...i dont hear it at all...makes me think i either
dont get it, or in all actuality he isnt a good mc (im
leaning towards the latter)

ive listened to this whole thing 3 times and cant choose one
track worth keeping on my hard drive...its just not...
good...i feel like every track is about 3 steps away from
being good and just doesnt jump high enough

i remember some reviewer saying this was as silly and fun as
de la soul is dead - which is utter bullshit - ...is dead is
a 10 out of 10 - this is a 2 out of ten, tops

may change my mind...for now im gonna listen to
ultramagnetic mc's...

yeah its probably just not your thing. i dont think its that
you dont 'get' it.. i mean hes just a rapper with some
rhymes to unleash, not L ron hubbard

(magazine reviewers are paid for their opinions)

tons of stuff

what do you wanna hear, indie, old school, mid-school,
recent commercial?

it really depends

akrobatik / skitzo is garbage

7l and esoteric made one good record

DITC was cool back before big L got singed and when diamond
had good beats, after day one it went straight down hill

horrible - i dont get it - we all speak the same
language...why is your hip hop worse than marmite (cause
that shit is ALSO horrible)

that shit...yuckers...wicked gross...and that:

"on good bread with real british butter it tastes better"

excuse is dogshit - ive had it over in england the "real"
way and it still takes like oven droppings

the thing about mf doom that draws me too him is his lack of
cliches and going against the grain. hell rhyme words in the
middle of a sentence, not just every last word in a line.
hes clever. he doesnt just sing about hos and crystal.

my favorite line by him:
"what? these old things? about to throw em away
with the gold rings that make 'em don't fit like oj."
(note things and rings rhyming in the middle of the
sentence, again.)

MF Doom is a fantastic MC with one of the most interesting
flows around and his albums have an incredible sense of
fun.

But the production on his tracks always sounds a tad too
bland compared to the other big leftfield hip-hop guys.

One should note that these so called "big leftfield hip-hop
guys" have other people writing their music for them.

euphonicfilter - go download "Vaudeville Villain", its his
best work imo.

There's four sides to every story
If these walls could talk
they'd prolly still ignore me

How much UK Hiphop have you actually heard? It's like me
listening to 50 Cent and saying all US hiphop is shit.

As for MF Doom he has moments of cleverness but I agree that
there is a lot of blandness in there.

"Operation Doomsday" is my favorite alum by the Supervillain
; I got it both on CD and vinyl because I love it so much !!
I don't understand half of the lyrics but the beats are
absolutely awesome and he rhymes very sweetly, having a raw
voice though. And the skits are so funny !

Btw, Euphonicfilter, Dangerdoom is said to be his worst
album to date... give a listen to Op:Doomsday.
