I signed up for this thing online, and it's this organization of shows that will be occurring in some major cities around the U.S.. I fill out their form, and the only discrepency i notice is that under the part where it says "band members" the lowest number you can put is "three," so i put three, thinking they won't get back to me. They called me yesterday, asking me to come out for an interview, and to bring a demo and seven dollars to sign up so i can play. i'll probably be playing in dallas, at either the gypsy tea room or the liquid lounge. i'm so freaking wired!!!!! IEEEE!!!!! |

seven dollars to play in DALLAS at a REAL venue? you bet. i've been trying for years to get a decent gig and i'm not turning this down. there will also be prizes for the better bands, so maybe i can score something for it. either way, i'm going to be happy just to be there. |

Well for a start it is $70 to sign up. All I would say is fuck that. If you are good enough you get paid to perform. It should never be the other way round. Everything looks fucking suspect about this. You are basically paying them $70 for an audition. They only guarantee one 'show' which is your audition. If YOU fail to appear a that show their commitment to you is over. Personally I would say you would be a fucking muppet to continue with this. |

and really... these people are probably expecting rock bands and rap groups and stuff. I doubt they want some weird electronic stuff (hence the 3 person minimum). Lets say you got to play... most people would probably be like "wtf" You need to find special places to play this type of music... not organized band festivals |
