Serious Thread: why i feel anti-abortionists are selfish self-righteous assholes

why?

a person is not a person until it realizes it is. do you
remember being a zygote? i know i don't. and don't tell me
you do, because unless you're some kind of freak, you don't.
the persons who seek abortion do so for a number of reasons,
but basiclly because they are not ready to nurture and bring
forth properlly another human being.
i see lots of anti-abortionists with their signs out front
of the abortion clinic, and they even go so far as to plant
numerous white-painted wooden crosses in front of the clinic
to represent the lost lives of these pre-people. they need
to feel better about themselves, so they protest; they say
they're pro-life. of course that's what they'd say. would
they say that they're pro-death? of course not.
society would be better off without people raised in an
unhealthy situation precipitated by immature and/or unworthy
parents. but the anti-abortionists aren't about reality,
only about self-righteousness. they are Idiots!

i knew i was a person as soon as i was conceived. i felt my
soul being encoded for and bound to my body like binary code

hehe not really

what proof can you offer me, either online or in real life
that you are a person anyway? it is up to me to decide
whether or not you are even real

I agree with you pretty much 100%

the only time I sympathize with anti-abortionists is when I
think about the would-be consequences of my parents aborting
me...

but for the most part I think its better to not bring a
child into the world if you can't care for it properly.

than anything else in the animal kingdom.

am if he knows about bippies.

only error there is that anti-abortionists aren't protecting
persons.. it's more life or something...

I think parents should be able to choose for themselves too,
btw, but I also feel that the restrictions on how old a
foetus (sp?) can be before abortion should no longer be an
option.

I also don't really think there's anything wrong with
adoption, which, in most cases, is a perfectly viable
option.

nope. that's my point. i can't remember being a person until
around 2. they say that the first 6 years are the formative
years, in which the parents mold the person-to-be.

i agree with you up to the point where adoption becomes a
viable option. it's viable, but is it just as healthy for
the adopted's psyche as being raised by their natural
parents? i'd tend to think in some cases yes, but in others
not. i feel why take the chance.

A friend of mine is pregnant and says it feels like having a
chest burster growing inside her. And this is a girl who
WANTS a baby. Imagine how you'd feel if you didn't want it.

So I say, only women get to decide, and they have to decide
for themselves. Legislative bodies of dead white males can
basically go fish.

I can't believe I made a serious response in this thread so
here is the cakes LOL

yeah, that would depend on how you see the biology vs
society thing: which part plays the biggest role. I'd say
the only "sure shot" thing where abortion is the only option
is the extreme cases (rape, drug-addiction with the mother
(don't get me wrong: it would still have to be her own
choice) and stuff like that).

of course, there's also the "good parents" / "bad parents"
thingie, but there one just has to put faith in the control
instances of the adoption agencies.. it may not be much of a
comfort, but it's all we have.

some pretty funny quotes in this thread

interesting argument, about people not being people until
they realize they are. i think you are defining
"realization" as beginning with your first memory. for me,
my first memory was when i was about two, i stepped on a
piece of glass. so if i had been murdered before then, then
no harm done. by your reasoning, it is a okay to kill
babies as long as they wouldnt have remembered being killed
if they survived it. that is pretty shit reasoning really.

i'm pretty much anti-abortion. that doesnt mean i'm
"pro-life" i would say i'm "pro-choice" in certain
circumstances. i myself would not choose to abort a baby.
but one way i look at it is . . . if you're too stupid or
too poor to put your dick in a condom, then the world
probably wont miss your offspring, and your offspring is (a)
too stupid to know it's getting aborted or (b) poor enough
to thank you for it. so go for it.

however if you get raped by a fucking sick rapist, then you
dont want to raise a baby rapist whose dad was a sick
fucking rapist. i can understand somehow choosing to kill
the fetus. like euthanasia. somehow that ties in my view
that it is okay to kill a vegetablized person.

anyway, point being, i think it's nobody's argument either
way until you are retarded enough to get yourself into that
situation.

My main problem with abortion are people that abuse it.
There are women out there that have had multiple sex
partners with no intentions of starting a family and
continuously have abortions. Like they forgot about the
morning after pill or something.

Thats my deal!

i think it should be a joint decision. both male and female
were responsible, so both should have equal say. what if the
female is an psychotic pro-lifer? :)
what really pisses me off is some of these females who say
"we are the ones who bring forth life" when actually it
takes a man also to bring forth life. goddamn bitches!
ooohhhh shit i despise those!!!

i want to say that i heard somewhere that the man doesnt
have a choice since it grows within the womans body.

if the man has no say, then should he also have no
responsibility/obligation to provide care?

"if you're too stupid or
too poor to put your dick in a condom, then the world
probably wont miss your offspring"

that's my point. someone who's insanely pro-life would have
that baby because they would think it's the "right" thing to
do.

very true. i have a friend who both he and his "girlfriend"
are only 18, maybe 19 im not sure. but she got pregnant, and
he wanted to abort it but she and her mother are batshit
insane and wont do it. now this girl is pregnant with a baby
while still drinking, smoking and doing lots of coke. and
this poor child is going to have to be raised by this bitch?

didnt want to abort in and in the end had no say.

i wish i could remember more details.

tricky.

tha man always "looses" in a way.. if she wants it and he
doesn't, he has to pay for it because it is his
child
, but if he wants it and she doesn't, she still has
the final say.

only way to "win" is if both want it or both don't want it,
but it's still ultimately the woman who decides, and the
man's "choice" is just an illusion.

oh yeah.. and the topic... the only way to do it is get a
solid scientific definition of when an embryo has a far
along developed brain to be considered capable of
conciousness.... or perhaps figure out what conciousness is
anyway, maybe it extends beyond the brain? I'm sure many
people think so.

I don't think those that argue killing a potential life have
much virtue.. that direction would kill off even birth
control, which will never go away.. so it's a balance
between preventing a potential life and when that life
actually starts.

anyone under the age of consent in the country they live in
who gets pregnant should be forced by law to abort, aswell
as people who cannot support a child, theres already too
many fucking people on this planet.
