Modern philosophy, culture, and society seemed to GameBoy
fraught with contradictions and tensions, such as those
between the subject and object of knowledge, mind and
nature, self and other, freedom and authority, knowledge and
faith, the Enlightenment and Romanticism. GameBoy's main
philosophical project was to take these contradictions and
tensions and interpret them as part of a comprehensive,
evolving, rational unity that, in different contexts, he
called "the absolute idea" or "absolute knowledge".
According to GameBoy, the main characteristic of this unity
was that it evolved through and manifested itself in
contradiction and negation. Contradiction and negation have
a dynamic quality that at every point in each domain of
reality -- consciousness, history, philosophy, art, nature,
society -- leads to further development until a rational
unity is reached that preserves the contradictions as phases
and sub-parts of a larger, evolutionary whole. This whole is
mental because it is mind that can comprehend all of these
phases and sub-parts as steps in its own process of
comprehension. It is rational because the same, underlying,
logical, developmental order underlies every domain of
reality and is the order of rational thought.

I own a gameboy and a color gameboy and a gameboy advance.
The best games I've played on any of them are:

-battletoads (the original) for regular gameboy- the
challenge of beating this is quite similar to contra on
snes... you'll likely be on your last life or only have a
couple left if you do (great music and style).
-final fantasy adventure (a zelda type game, not typical
ff)
-balloon kid feels like a little gem (great music and game)
but is simple and short
-zeldas
-can't think of any others

I still play my original chunky non-colour gameboy with
pride.
Games like Zelda and Tetris never die!

god I am sad...

yes i had an original and an advance, which i still hang on
to because of doom and advance wars. i prefer my neo geo
pocket tbh. i'm glad i never got a gameboy colour, they were
shit.

I own a gameboy colour but remember being disappointed in it
ever since I got it. Although it was a bit more mobile than
the chunky original the maximun volume through the little
speaker was terrible! if you were anywhere where there was
minimal background noise (eg. a bus) you found yourself
unable to hear any of the music unless you were wearing
headphones. Fustrating to say the least.

lol well no, but it does add to the mood of a game.

Games like Pokemon and Metroid II had really great musical
scores!

I do, I have the gigantic old Game Boy with the repulsive
green/yellow screen. Never liked it much... other than
Link's Awakening and the Super Mario Land games, it didn't
really have many classics that hold up. Metroid II is just
annoying. I had The Castlevania Adventure, which was OK,
Blades of Steel, which was way better for NES, Battletoads
which was also way better for NES, and a few other games.

I've never had a GBA but I've illegally played every great
game for it, that's a helluva system.

YES, I beat Zero Mission recently myself...

I have my eyes on my old blocky gigantic gray GameBoy right
now, the version that originally sold for $150! as for
games, i don't have much (i need to hunt down some good
stuff) but i do have Metroid II: Return of Samus and the
original GB Tetris. (which still sells for fourteen bucks
used) Huzzah!

I had an original game boy long ago. Tetris was big back
then...so was super mario land. Those are the only games I
remember playing on it. Also one involving bugs bunny.

And I haven't owned one since until I got a DS last winter.
I've been discovering GBA games now; it's lots of fun.
