the "safe" population

more than half of our planeterian population lead a Safe
life by following the system and leading their daily
routine, and listening to what the media feeds them with.
It is sad to say that these people tend to lack in
sensitivity and respect toward others. They won't dare to
look in your eyes when you cross the street... or to simply
reply to a kind "greeting".
this is frightening.... Never fall into this black hole!!!!
Just addapt here and there instead!!! :)

I follow a fair bit of "the system" because it suits me to
do so. Doesn't mean they've pulled the wool over my eyes, or
that I'm loyal to it, or that I think it's flawless.

Oh and I'm quite happy to look people in the eye and I
usually respond to a "hello" from a stranger, unless they
look like a panhandler, marketing person, or religious
salesperson.

I agree a lot of people don't seem aware of it and just
blindly follow, questioning nothing, etc.

Some might arge my approach lumps me in with those people,
I'd disagree.

Have you read the new Harry Potter? There's a bit in that
where they talk about Harry have to face Voldemort, but that
he can do it through choice, as opposed to due to fate and
that the former is vastly preferable. It's a poor, tenuous
analogy, but I'd say the same applies in this instance.

Being in the system, but being aware of it and choosing to
do so because it suits your own ends is much better than
being in it because you know no different.

Sorry, but this is complete bullshit. First off there is not
such a thing as a system. There are many diffrent 'systems'
and you as a person are a system too.
No one, believes what the media feeds them, thats elitarist
thinking, lots of people know that the 'media' represents
only a constructed view of the so called 'reality'

He's probably talking about Western Capitalist society in
this instance. I concede there are other systems, but as
this is currently the most powerful and consequently, most
hated, they tend to take back seat positions in such
debates.

It's not a case of believeing everthing or nothing. It's the
degree to which you believe it. For example, I believe a lot
of news, whilst often flawed and slightly innaccurate, is,
by and large, fairly truthful and shouldn't be disregarded
in its entireity. Similarly, I believe so government reports
are comparatively unbiased, whereas others are massively
flawed and intentionally misleading.

Also, some people sadly do believe everything (or almost
everything) the government and media pedal, although I agree
they are less common than the intellectual elite would like
to think.

Of course, what else can one do? You either believe it, or
you do not. Id say the 'manipulation' occours through the
mechanism of selection, what is considered information/no
information by the editors.
I think everyone knows that.

I agree with you. But I follow the system not only because
it suits me, but beccause it offers me a safe heaven and so
I want to show some respect and cooperation towards it. I am
willing to compromise with the things I do not agree with to
an extent, because without it the very safety of my life and
everything I posess would be hugely reduced.

Many people who follow the "system" don't do it out of
blindness, but out of their interpretation of intrinsic
human nature (which may be overly pessismistic), out of a
desire to compromise for the good of the majority, and out
of respect for what it offers.

What I've just said may be rubbish. I'm not very clever,
just sharing some views. :-)

I agree that editorial selection plays a large part in what
they choose to display, which in turn influences people's
perceptions. I think it's important not to switch to the
other extreme and decry it as all manipulation (although
invariably some of it is) and instead subscribe to every
alternative belief and conspiracy theory, as some sort of
"anti-system" practice.

The counter-culture movement also make use of exaggeration,
selective editorals and outright deception. All information
should be viewed with a critical eye, regardless of its
point of origin.

What kind of system exactly do you follow? There are mayn
systems, not only one. The economic system integrates you,
and you integrate the economic system, into your
psychic-system. There is no other way to survive. But you
can RE-INVENT yourself thus gain activley an IDENTITY, of
course only with the help of the other systems around you

Yeah, I don't evison there being drum machines, music
software, curries, stability, videogames, martial arts, sail
and powerboats, motorbikes, alcohol, turntables, mixers,
electronic music, cars, etc. in short, most of the things
that make me happy, without some sort of system.

Occassionally having to repress the urge to give someone a
kicking, torching a business that has wronged me in some
way, or using a bit of discretion as to when and where I
speed, seem small prices to pay for all of the above.
