..article 36 of the Geneva Convention :-

Prisoners of war who are ministers of religion, without
having officiated as chaplains to their own forces, shall be
at liberty, whatever their denomination, to minister freely
to the members of their community. For this purpose, they
shall receive the same treatment as the chaplains retained
by the Detaining Power. They shall not be obliged to do any
other work

THIS IS PROPOSTEROUS! Do you not agree?
It's encouraging religion fanaticism! in our day and age!
They should all be locked up at Wantanamo (sp?) Bay and have
the keys jammed down their throats

surely you must agree with me on the draconian preposteriety
of this article.

And there it is, in black and sort-of-Khaki. Hidden amongst
all the other articles which speak so much crap. I hate
these Genevans!

I LEND MY SUPPORT TO THE ABOLISHMENT OF section 36 of
THE GENEVA CONVENTION under my right to free speech! FIGHT
FOR YOUR RIGHT TO FIGHT BACK!

Its great that people are screaming to have more rights
taken away. Why don't we make it that no religion is
tollerated, so people can be inprisoned for trying to
believe in something. That will shut them up right away.
Yesir.

You cannot be serious.

If you are, then may I bring your attention to the rest of
the Geneva convention, which the US has completely ignored
in its imprisonment of civilians in Guantanamo without
trial, funding of regimes with a long history of human
rights violations and war crimes, and its own aggression
throughout the world.

This article is allowing prisoners of war (which the
guantanamo detainees are by no means) who are ministers of a
religion to conduct religious services. That's not
encouraging religious fanaticism, it's tolerating people's
religious needs.

Geneva isn't in America so the sStates feel they can ignore
it, it's intolerable!

oh...and I don't mind as long as they aren't muslim radical
fundamentalists, but if they are then surely a new addition
should be made to this law!
