Did you guys know that they spent time in my city and all
over Canada? Studying film and advertising and all that?

Did you know what inspired them to make the type of eerie
songs they do? It was the "National Film Board Of Canada"
<----- see those last 3 words! They made weird "Public
service announcements" about nature, energy conservation and
such things...... thats where they get all these weird ideas
and the creepy sounds from! Neat isnt it?... right in my
city.

I LOVE those films! They always showed us them in our
science classes years ago, they were great. Nature amazes
me.

the best national film board movies are thoes old really
grainy 30 second animal commercial things they show late at
night on channel 3.
wicked music in thoes.
also, project grizzly is a wicked movie.

that's what i wanna see!

Yes I remember when I was really young, in the mid 80's....
im 19 now.... when they played a lot of those videos....
strange stuff. Sounds just like BOC without the nice beats.

heh, I remember that simpsons episode where they were
filming the famous movie of the Big Foot walking through the
forest... heh, that's hilarious...

hmmm, everything seems to remind me of the simpsons today...

ya a lot of their music seems to be reminiscent of those old
public announcement films..

a lot of thier samples really sound like them too:
"energy conservation... (bla bla bla) by the time im a
parent, there may not be enough energy to go around"
"when hot magma errupts from the earths surface"

.......etc....

especially some of those cool vintage (almost detuned
sounding) synth sounds...

eighties..especially being a nerd who watched pbs
documentaries a lot...remember that show with that guy who
wore a unitard with internal organs on it? or that
commercial with the crying indian?

You can borrow those old NFB movies from the library, its
awesome, all kinds of tripped out "graphic experiments" and
documentaries. Man I love that stuff.

yeah someone in a car threw some garbage on the side of the
road near an indian reservation, where an injun was walking
alongst the road. the garbage/food splatters all by the
injuns foot and the camera pans and zooms in on the injun's
face and shows a small tear trickling down. it was for a
littering / environmental compaign.

ANYWAY, THE GUY IS NOT CRYING BECAUSE YOU DUMPED GARBAGE ON
THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE IS CRYING BECAUSE THE UNITED
STATES GOVERNMENT TOOK AWAY HIS LAND AND RAPED AND KILLED
HIS PEOPLE.

Well, I left a CD case at work last night and Geogaddi was
in it. I want to cry. I won't be at work again until
Sarurday. I've haven't been playing an album this regularly
in years and now I've left it for entire week.
