Aeon Flux: The Movie

I'm gonna bite my tongue and say that the trailer for aeon
flux looked damn fine. Aside from the possability of raping
the original concept (the little details that made me love
the animated series so much) my only discrepencies is the
fact that trevor goodchild had better be the same goodchild
he was in the animated series. I love his character, hes
practically a god. In this I bet hes just a bad guy.

be smart.

they can't stray too far from either Trevor or Aeon's
characters. i love how they are lovers one moment, then
enemies the next.

"The future is flux".

jeeeeesus...

I'm sorry, this looks pretty shit. that whole story about
Aeon saying a freedom fighter - that's what she always said,
but it was always complete bullshit. Aeon did whatever she
wanted.

I always interpreted that as Trevor knowing Aeon so well he
knows almost exactly what she'll do, not so much as actual
mindreading.

with the character analysis :D

well, the fun thing about the animated series was that
nothing was explained or said outright - so he could've
actually read her mind.

the keyword for Aeon Flux is: ambiguity.

now, seeing as this is a large Hollywood blockbuster type
thing, I'm very afraid they'll drop the ambiguity in
favour of a pretty clear story that is conducive to fast
action - this trailer indicates such a choice BUT it
is a trailer and these still is the end of summer,
so a trailer at this time would focus more on action.

(although the action never really was that important to the
plot in the series, more just.. beautiful to watch.)

actually, now I come to think of it, I'm pretty certain
they'll have dropped the ambiguity - the test audiences they
normally use for early screenings will never let that
one pass. :(

At least its somewhat nice to see some of the episodes
concepts get put to use. Before the trailer I was afraid
they wouldn't follow or use any of it.

Thats a tough one, personally a last time for everything
seemed to have the most solid story, could have been a movie
in and of itself. All the others are great too, the purge
was a mindbender, the use of metaphoric imagry and poetic
communication was expressed very well in it.

Since we're on the subject of Aeon Flux, last night I made a
track with audio samples I took from it.

Lydia

aeon flux telephasic boc style vocal cuts with super metroid
tourian drones and a groovy beat that will melt butter :)

"the purge" would be my favourite. the one with the clones
(can't remember the title) comes close second.

she is too short for a start. qrter's comments regarding
amiguity are spot on. Even on the website leading into the
preview everything is explained to a ten year old level.
This film will of course suck lemon rind

If you think in a realistic manner, to make an aeon flux
movie allot of money is needed, thus mainstream producers
and ppl youve never heard of taking over the story. This
obviously wasn't meant for us hardcore fans, if it was,
Peter Chung wouldn't be puking right now and it would be
allot more independant. Then again he probly got hella
royalties for it. If I never saw the series I would think
the site intro is informative and ammusing. I'll still see
it, to hate it and like it at the same time. Whats done is
done.

Just rerelease the fucking series dvds!!!

if you think in a realistic manner, if you're a big movie
mogul, why pick something quirky and interesting like Aeon
Flux to make a movie out of if you're then going to ignore
exactly what it makes it quirky and interesting in the first
place - I mean you're basically right, it couldn't be done
very convincingly without lots of bucks, but if you want
something to make money, ergo an action movie, why pick Aeon
Flux as your subject matter. it just doesn't make sense..
except that..

it's big film studios trying to be "edgy" and then putting
safety fences everywhere.. "we want to sell it to you by
saying it's edgy, but we don't really want it to be
edgy..".

etc.

that kind of thing.

you know.

dang i noticed they had a made a movie when whoever posted
that "anal sex w/aeon flux" thread and i had done an image
search.

first of all she FUCKING DIES in every episode... how the
FUCK are they gonna pull that off, she'd better die at the
end.

second of all WAY TOO MUCH CLOTHING i mean that was all part
of her character and appeal right?

lastly it's just gonna suck... it's more like a major motion
film production "INSPIRED" by aeon.

btw; whatever happened to an "AKIRA" movie?!
