I think we should all regularly advertise our websites, even
if they do not exist, on the forums there, making sure that
our posts are formatted in the most offensive way possible,
and never displaying even the smallest sense of humour.

Don't you think he should contribute? Pietronob I mean.

since he's not "spamming" a commercial enterprise, and
basically informing people about how they can listen to a
stream of music in a style in which they've already
expressed an interest, i don't think he should be compelled
to contribute. but sure i think it would be nice.

he's always been a decent guy and actually posts about the
music he likes, he's not just here to "spam."

To be honest, I've only seen him spam his radio show, he
chips in now and again on related radio things. I don't
think 'spam' means he's making money, or maybe he is, I
don't know the deal with his radio show.

jesus fucking christ.

cheers for the link pietro - page looks rad.

re: contrib'ing, i think this site in terms of donations is
doing just fine at the moment, and pietro is well within his
means to post this thread. the next person that suggests
such a thing gets a punch in the face, courtesy me.

better start punching yourself first then - you made a
thread about the google ads.

phobia really can use the money. granted, it's paid for this
month, but the new month starts in 2 days.

pietro uses the site regularly to tell people about his
site, which is fine ofcourse, it just would be a nice
gesture from his side, as it would be from anyone who visits
this mb regularly - I don't think I suggested it in an
offensive manner.

re-reading what i wrote there, it comes across a lot
stronger than how i meant it - sorry! i'll blame lack of
sleep and irritating work stuff at the moment.

I thought this site was the official Digital::Nimbus
website. It's certainly the only place I've ever
(repeatedly) heard about the fucker.

always with the nitpicking.

nevertheless, the mob has spoken. pietro needs to cough up
some cash pronto or we're gonna open up a can of whoop ass
on him (meaning he'll get a stern but polite talking to from
qrter espousing the benefits of contributing to the general
welfare of xltronic while dog_belch menacingly glares
through a nearby window).

now i'm more awake and didn't just crawl out of bed from an
abusive phonecall, i can probably say something without
sounding so shitty.

i don't mind pietro's spam, and anybody else in his position
doing simular things; it keeps shit alive, both by promoting
decent fucking music, creating or enhancing various
communities, and involving artists within it; he's done far
better good than donating a mere $10 to some website. maybe
i'm biased having come from that angle myself, though, but
i'd assume it's a fuckload of work to do what he does, and
the benefits probably aren't as obvious as one would like,
but they're huge. yes, having something as simple as a
small radio show can have large implications - at least,
from what i've observed. that kickass album from your
favourite artist may have never come out if people in
pietro's position weren't trying to keep shit kickin'.

and i'm not sure how to word that any better without making
it sound like i'm licking his anus, and i'm not even wording
it anywhere near close to what i'm trying to fucking mean
because i'm tired as hell, but that's how it is, yo.

that. but otherwise well said.

I dont think that there was any heated flaming going on
here. It shouldnt be that big of a deal. By opening these
threads you must have a small percentage of knowledge that
there could be negitive/sarcastic comments.

One of the most obvious things i have seen here is that when
someone comes to this site to mainly spam their project,
there are a few that enjoy it and others that dont.

Thats the best thing about this community. Its diverse. I
appreciate the fact that you stand up and say something
about how you feel. I dont agree with you but i do respect
your opinion.

but remember its Zilty. Things can never change!

read my post again and inhale the humor this time. i was
referring to ixten with the nitpicking comment. i never
observed, perceived or described a flame war.

people are expressing their opinions about it, that's all.

Xltronic,

We really appreciate all the feedback..

The intention for the plug was to point out
that our new website launched --after years
of compiling, archiving, re-working, designing
and sorting all the data, we've finally presented
it properly for our listeners to consume, digest
and enjoy.

That's really the only mission here; to please
our already existing listeners and to possibly
attract a few more who may be interested
in tuning in to experimental electronics.
That's all it's about for us --to promote what
we love and to display it to the world to
digest.. And even though our posts may
seem mechanical and/or promotions based,
if you dig even further you'll find that it's all
about the music and nothing else.

We are not paid or sponsored to host our
show/website --it's a labor of love and 100%
voluntary. We're not here to spam, but to
simply introduce people to some cool and
interesting electronic music spanning
multiple genres, every week, 3 hours at
a time. We plugged the site here in hopes
that maybe 1 more person would realize
what we're about.. and it's the music.

Plain and simple..

Call it what you will, label it as you like,
file it in the trash or simply take note..
Our intention for this post, and several
others like it, are all positive and for the
advancement of electronic musicians all
across the planet.

Dig the music kids,

Pietro & Francesca.

Ok, it's nice to have a post that isn't promoting something.
I think, the thing is, XLT (Zilty) isn't just another
messageboard, it's not your WATMM, your North Denver IDM
Board or whatever. It's a board made up of people,
individuals, that despite their different views, all adhere
to the broadly Zilty demographic. And if it's one thing they
don't like, it's impersonal spam. So as good as your site
is, as good as your mixes are (and I've got one and it is
good), as worthy as your radio is, you do it, and Zilty, an
enormous disservice by posting like some IDM emitting,
programmed to cut'n'paste, droid. That's what winds people
up, as far as I can tell.
