Flicking through the channels, found this documentary on BBC3. Anyone else watching it? Seems to me that parasites and fashion leeches haven't learnt their lesson. They still cling to the every word and action of people like Doherty, people who are clearly in a bit of a mess. They elevate them to the status of poets etc. If he's not careful he'll burn himself out and die young. Then people will mourn him as a lost genius, whether he was one or not. Incidentally he isn't. |

I guess people are just fascinated by watching predictably unpredictable people self-destructing. The sycophantic way people are speaking about him in this documentary really is quite disconcerting. Is this really what 'the people in the know' think the fresh face of British music looks like? |

Yeah.. It didn't take me long to work that out actually. The way this documentary is shot is hilarious. It's as though they want it to be a 'summer of love' or 'on tour with the Stones' type thing. When really it's just a bunch of smackheads playing rather derivative rock music. The compassionate side of me feels a bit sorry for him though. I nearly lost a good friend to heroin. It's not a nice thing for anyone concerned. Hope he sorts himself out, if only for the sake of the people that care about him. |
