i'm sorry to hear that, that REALLY sucks. i get pissed when
i find scratches on my cds, a shattered disc would send me
killing. alright maybe not.

I'm like you in that respect, man. Can you tell me why it is
that girlfriends leave CDs piled up around the place out of
their cases? Or why they can't keep their fingers off the
surface? I remember I leant a brand new CD to an ex of mine
years ago and it came back totally scratched, with nail
varnish spilled on it. She tried to deny it was her...

Oh how we laughed... Through gritted teeth.

for a cupholder at best, completely fucked. luckily 4 still
plays but after that krrr...krrsstt...k.k.k.k.k.k. sounds
like some idumb remix.

obliterated itself and the cd-player :p

that's too bad. my girl leaves cd's piled up, but they never
get scratched, no nail polish, nothing like that. she's
good. it's my brother i have to watch out for, he's ruined
SO many cd's of mine. oh well, i forgive him.

whoa. i've actually heard of that happening to one of my
friends cds. that's wild. sorry. i was in a near fatal
car accident one time and the only thing i was worried about
was wether or not my aphex cd's got all fucked up.
thankfully they didn't but the case to my abb3 was straight
jacked up and it's not like i could get a new one for it cuz
it's the gay slim case design and the art work and labeling
on the original are stickers...

seaside holiday. i felt terrible.

too bad : /
especially on a double disc...

cd2 on my copy of Pan Sonic by Kesto (a 4cd set!) has a big
scratch all through the radius of the cd. but thanksfully,
it doesn't seem to affect play - it just makes my portable
cd player make more machine noise than usual...

i would get pissed off if one of my rare/out of print cds
got a problem though...

my friend bought me surfing on sine waves and just as he
gave it to me, the cd dropped on the floor, fell out and
cracked. i can't remember why it broke though because cds
are not that fragile.

uzim: get on msn...i feel like talking about air :)

I have this Maurizio compilation which has a crack halfway
through. I don't know how it happened, I just found it in
the (metal) casing cracked one day. I'm very orderly when it
comes to the care and nurturing of records, so I was ever so
miffed by the situation.

Half of it plays fine though :-/

there's nothing worse than listening to your favourite song
then all of a sudden it starts skipping, right at the best
part! luckily computer cd roms are good at missing
scratches.

probably the metal case expanding or contracting in
heat/cold.

...isn´t that the infamous package´s fault - the one you
mention? I´ve read about that somewhere...

My CD's only get listened to a couple of times before they
become encoded and part of my hard disk collective. Then
they stay hidden away from horrible scratch monsters and
nieces who like eating CD's and smashing the cases, and
friends that leave the CD on the front window of the car and
its become all warped from the heat. Bastards !!

That's why if anyone wants to listen to one of my CD's I
burn them an MP3 collection of stuff so they don't get their
grubby fingers on my Warpmart mixone CD.

interesting. didn't know that it was the casing's fault.
it's the one where it says "press ->" on one of the corners,
and opens to reveal a plate with a hole in the middle that's
supposed to hold the cd.

i don't believe that at all, if you think about it a bit,
it's REALLY not possible for a cd-drive to break a cd in
thousand pieces...

are you all that gullible?
