obviously we all enjoy the sound of electronic music but is it the most perfect/complete stuff to be found in context of electronica?
what music would you say comes closest to perfection?

what?
what other stuff, apart from electronic music, can be found in the context of electronica?
are you talking about which is better, pure electronica or electronica-bands (postal service etc) ?

thinking again about the question you asked, some people make cold, clinical music out of sine waves that are the "purest" form of sound i guess... but that's probably not what you want. (and one could always complain that the sound of a CD is not perfect, nor would be the restitution of blah blah blah blah...)
if i take it subjectively, "Roads" by Portishead comes to mind. but it's not really "perfect", just really great (and sad) to my ears.
do you know your question is exasperating?! ; )

yeah, and Sachiko M did a concert once where all she did was play a continous sine wave for the whole time, with a very long fade to silence at the end.
some time ago, some people asked me which were my ten favourite songs; i kept on changing my mind all the time, but my latest top 10 was as follows:
Sonic Youth - Hits Of Sunshine (for Allen Ginsberg) Portishead - Roads Tool - Disposition/Reflection/Triad The Young Gods - Moon Revolutions The Smashing Pumpkins - Thru The Eyes Of Ruby Radiohead - Just Underworld - Dirty Epic PJ Harvey - Yuri-G Nirvana - Serve The Servants Elysian Fields - Bayonne

indeed, he was quite disenchanted with how punk music was embraced and glorified by the recording industry and the masses.
however, he did play some punk (at least 2 songs) on that DJ session on the BBC that i have.
(not saying that nirvana is punk, but.. y'know what i'm saying..)

ever since the three other dead kennedys sued jello biafra, jello likes to brag about how he was hanging out with frank zappa and frank told him to lose the other guys because of their questionable characters. if only he had taken frank zappa's advice, maybe he wouldn't have lost the rights to his own music!

Well crafted pussy-pop is only about 2% of my musical diet, but it's my favorite. The Beatles, Harry Nilsson and the Free Design being my three favorite artists, they write circles around everyone. And then other guys like Brian Wilson, Curt Boettcher, They have nothing to hide behind or fall back on except their songcraft and charisma. It's precarious, it's so easy to make a pop song sound dumb if you don't know what you're doing.
Other than that, I don't think it's possible to make a bad choral work. Stuff like Arvo Part's Te Deum and Alfred Schnittke's Psalms of Repentence sound amazing even when the compositions themselves aren't amazing. And when the compositions ARE amazing, watch the fuck out, pure music.
Post-punk, I don't think I've heard too much bad post-punk... the style is cool by design, and low maintenance.

There appears to be no such thing. The said choice of music would need to have a profound outstanding everlasting effect on the listener. That in essence is nearly impossible. Considering we all have so much life yet to live.

minimal-techno is perfect, or supose to be ..the problem is ofcourse that alot of minimal trax are boring, "not perfect" to you ..but then others are.. alot of Studio Eins trax has the perfect touch, in my ears.. a simple loop that goes on and on for 5-15 mins, and when the track is over you go "I wanna hear it again!!" :P that's a perfect loop ;)

Thanks for asking, tolstoyed my most perfect music is probably something like "444" which is trippy dreamy expansive ethereal empyrean. That's the one I like the best, kind of reflective a li'l melancholy but hopeful like me and also it has the awesome melody and makes you see geometricals of various sorts too.
Other times my paragon is invariably Squarepusher, I think that he is one of the greatest musicians ever. My first love in his music was Hard Normal Daddy and the reason why I love it so much is because it syncretises traditional instrumentation and musical history with electronics and their possibilities for expanding consciousness or enabling ideas, and the emotion that he puts into his music and his dedication to it and also his righteousness resonates with me he is my superhero, really.
IDM is the best.

i guess perfect = favourite ?
i heard perfect music only in my lucid dreams, of course perfect maybe because other stuff related to LD was involved. ok, in wide awake state i found mozart's music almost perfect, but i admint that on my mp3 1GB flash player alway 200MB is dedicated to old aphex twin (saw, icbyd, ab...), it works always. and next my "perfect" sound is
deep deep deep deep house or techno. i like when music doesn't flood your ears and you have space where to live, just like suitably stoned :)
