I started these two before the holiday, but didn't finish them until now... home at my parents' place for sunday dinner, and I just became immersed in the music making again...
Piste just lots of banging on stuff and some noise that came from the neighbour that day...
Picadilly Circus playing on glasses and banging on stuff and then playing on a bottle with water in it and squeezing the water up and down to make tones.

and now picadilly circus-really like the haunting sounds running through it-the flute type sound was a little crazy but good.

I liked picadilly circus.. found it a bit short... I kike the organic sounds, that strange tremolo... also the rhythm intro at 0"48 is really good.
I'm downloading piste......

record stuff!
for the "haunting sound" in picadilly, just get some crystal glasses if you have any, wet the tip of your finger and run it around the edge on the top of the glass. add different amounts of water to tune it.
the flute sound is a 1 1/2 liter plastic bottle filled with water up to a certain point, and then I squeeze the sides to make the water go up and down in the bottle, creating different tones. of course, this is a cut'n'paste version of it, but you can hear some tone-shifting...

Piste is excellent too, but a bit frustrating, it ends to much fast.
Yeah, tremolo.. sound softly trembling from the beginning... It's like woingwooongwoingwooong with those delightful glass scrapes and bounces ...

yeah, that's our latest too.. not metal, but it's really shiny and it's got lots of textures and things that stand out from the picture... it's also very very long.. like 15cm wide and a little less than 1m high...

picadilly circus was good :) the blowing of the bottles sounds really good. i can imagine this being the soundtrack to a weird horror film.
wasn't so keen on piste, i think it was the background noise that put me off. got a good groove going tho :)

thanks!
heh.. it was hard to avoid background noise on these recordings as they were done with the worlds crappiest mic... oddly enough, on the previous four or five tracks with this mic, I got feedback saying that this was the stuff with the best technical quality theyd heard from me (its a norwegian forum).
fuck. where are the apostrophes on english keyboards? this linux no-harddrive stuff is annoying!

thanks, and yes; it is tuned background noise with my parents' neighbour drilling at the wall... I also earlier made a song with NOTHING BUT tuned background noise.. the rest of the "kitchen songs" are here (scroll down to "Kitchen Music")
I've gotten that mum comparison with my music before, but I never really listened to mum, so I don't know how true it is.. that's by the same people who think the sound-quality and mix is better on the kitchen tunes than my others.. I don't know...
you don't need a portable recorder.. I did everything just sitting in front of my parents' computer, and I think I'll have to steal that mic from them when I get my new computer...
