the more you tell them there's a problem and they have to
wait, the more they give you hard time about when it's going
to be finished...perhaps the most annoying kind of human
beings.

some mother fcuker completly ruined my day because of
it..ahh

there were some documents missing, and i had other stuff to
do before i could get to his case so he was coming to office
every 15 minutes giving me hard time about it..

When people like that ask for 'constant progress updates',
even when there's nothing new to report, I just don't return
their calls or emails. When they finally get hold of me, my
excuse for not returning their calls is, 'sorry, I've been
so busy fixing your problem I haven't had a chance to take
calls. Nothing to report, but I'm still working on it.'
After they get that 3/4 times, they tend to take the hint
and STFU.

Of course, it's only ethical to do that if you actually
are working on fixing the problem. If you genuinely
haven't had time, tell them so. Invariably, they'll complain
to your manager about it and then use that as an argument
for greater resource/support in your depatment.

yeah, i was definitely working on it, but it just took way
longer than usual (because it wasn't all up to me)..and i
wouldn't be bothered if he'd be calling or emailing me, but
he came in the office every 15 minutes..he got pissed off at
me, and in the end i got pissed off at him and that was
that..ruined day for both of us and all over nothing..

It wasn't a story or even an anecdote as it didn't relate to
any single (or particular series of) events. If anything, it
was simply an explanation of my modus operandi in relation
to that particular problem, every time it occurs.

How do you deal with overly-persistent clients,
bill?

Tolstoyed: That is a real pain if he kept coming into the
office to talk to you about it.

i get this all the time at work... i do graphic design...
and work on a lot of jobs on one day... then somebody comes
in and wants me to do a font change on something... i tell
them "ok... come back in a couple of hours and i'll have it
ready.' they're like... "oh no... i need it now!"... i'm
like... "you know i'm working on other i need it now
jobs?"... then they start getting all fussy... but with my
bosses spineless ways... they customer always get what they
want... and i'm pissed off for the rest of the day.
